thats the only reason why i buy the 12 inch bully sticks and when lexi
chews it down to like 4 inches, i throw it away. i dont ever what to go through that.. im so sorry about your baby recently passing.. god bless

An experienced yorkie owner like yourself definatly belongs here. You have more experience than most of us about these little boogers. You don't go anywhere, we need you.

Mysweetbabies, Buddy had a mast cell tumor under his eye. I made a appointment to have it removed.

The night before he fell down. I thought it could have been his arthritis. The next morning he fell again, and wouldn't play. So when I got him to the vet I told him that I changed my mind about removing the cancer. That something else was wrong.

The vet looked at his eyes and told me that he thought he had a stroke. Said that if his temp was below 102 that would confirm it. His temp was 98.

The vet gave him a shot, sent me home. I had to syringe his water and food. But by Friday night he was up and playing.

Two weeks later his back right leg was shaking.

When a dog has a stroke it affects the right side of the body. So I knew he was having another stroke.

I knew he was old and he gave me his life time of love and companionship. I knew it was time to let go.

When I was a teenager my poodle had a severe stroke and could not recover. She was only four years old and it broke my heart. It still makes me cry. Her name was Muffy.

I just bought my baby's bully sticks. As a matter of fact they just came today and they are trying them out for the first time right now. This is an excellent warning for me as I have already had incidents pig ears and the like! I will be sure to take them away when they get small (and order more, the like them!)

I had to come back to your thread to say Thank You. Missy just had troubles with a Bullystick. If it hadn't been for reading this thread yesterday, I may not have been paying as close attention to her while she was chewing it. She managed to chew a hunk of the Bullystick off and it got stuck in her throat. I was able to retrieve it because some of it was still sticking out of her throat and was stuck twisted around her back teeth. I had to pry the Bullystick out of her teeth (not an easy task, those things get sticky) and then pull it out of her throat. It was so scarey! I think that I'm only going to give her hooves from now on. She enjoys chewing them as much as Bullysticks and she's never managed to actually chew a piece off of the hoof. I think they will be less risky. Again, thank you so much for posting your warning on chew sticks. I am so glad that Missy was right beside me chewing her Bullystick. Who knows what could have happened if she were chewing it unsupervised.

I really thought that Bullysticks were safe. So many of our furbabies enjoy them.

I keep seeing posts about the bully sticks, maybe we should bump this every now and again. As a warning. I would hate to see some one go through the same thing I did.

I use to give my kids bullys all the time...UNTILL one day the same thing happen to me, You really have to watch and make sure they dont chew them
down to far, I have switched to a different chew now, Though i know they would much perfer the bully stix ,,,Im just very paronoid about them now.
