| Come one Come All Hey ladies, I haven't been on here in a while. I know "shame on me" but I assure you that I have a legitimate reason and that is, I have been in college and I have been so busy with school that I just don't have time for anything. Also in the process of buying a house so I guess you all know that well I am pretty busy. So let me get to the point here. I am doing a 6 page research argumentative paper for philosophy and my topic is The fight against Puppymills. So I encourage anyone and everyone to pm me or just post to this thread any and all information they have. "I mean anything." I would also like to post my paper when its finished somewhere here on this forum for all you wonderful ladies and gents to read if you would like and if I am aloud to do so. So thanks in advance. Thanks Kindly, MrsPeanut and the gang.

| I'd start just doing a search on this site for "puppymills." There are many articles on puppymill busts and the atrocities found when they rescue the dogs. There are several videos of actual conditions found when they raid them. There is one that includes undercover expose video. Then you might want to wind it up with a couple of success stories -- dogs rescued and then adopted by YT members. But also show the other side, dogs that were so horribly abused that they had to be PTS to end their agony. Great topic you picked to increase awareness. Look forward to reading it when you are done.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I volunteer at a no kill shelter that gets dogs in from puppy mills occassionlly so maybe talking to shelters may provide some useful information.

| Wow, the puppymill truck is a great idea. I wonder what people say to that man when they realize its a prop to spread awareness about puppymills.

| Just an update to you ladies. I am on page three of six and WOW. Doing all this research has opened my eyes to a lot of things. #1 Our Federal Laws Governing the requirements for "kennels" aka puppymills are very weak and vague, no wonder all these cruel people are getting away with the deplorable conditions they put these beautiful creatures in. # 2 States Laws aren't any better because not all states have laws protecting dogs or even care that much about it. # 3 If people were interested in the awareness of puppymills as they are about presidential elections they MAYBE someone would propose some STRONG, DIRECT legislation with specific stipulations on how "kennels" should be operated. #4 I bred my yorkie a year ago because I wanted another dog and I realize now that I should leave it to the professional reputable breeders that are breeding to better the breed and not make a profit. I never sold my puppies and didn't plan to but if I could do it over I would have immediately spaid my dog and went to the humane society and rescued a dog. I didn't understand the complexity of this issue and how many animals really are out there who need a hero. #5 I will never trust a pet store regardless if they have signs saying they don't get there dogs from puppy mills because a reputable breeder wouldn't sell there dogs to a pet store and furthermore, the employees themselves do not know where these dogs came from and/or are told different.

Hopefully there are other states trying to tighten the rein on these puppymills as well. These are two that I have been writing to lawmakers about. Would love to see them both passed this year!

| Having finished my Master's in the not so distant past, I know that the more information one has makes for a better paper. Here's something I recently read, maybe you could use something from it http://www.fedmedogclubs.org/info%20flyers/backyard%20breeder%20fallacy.pdf |
