| Please help me or give opinion I thought i was doing the right thing now i am worried i did not do the right thing. Many have looked at my post but no answer to my question . Last weekend I got a male yorkie he is 11 weeks old . He is my baby . I felt guilty leaving him during the day so . I thought getting him a playmate would help . So I bought a female 8 weeks old yesterday . i looked at it that it would be easier to potty train two and get it over and they would grow up together . When we got home with her he was wanting to play but then he wanted to get on her she is smaller than him . I am worried about putting them in the same pen together during the day that he might hurt her . My question is did i do the wrong thing and is it safe to put them together during the day . Some one please be kind and give me advise . i do not know what to do . http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...ser_online.gif http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...ons/report.gif http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...c/progress.gif |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | How much does each of them weigh? Your little girl is very young so you do want to be careful. I only have one yorkie so don't know if I can help you or not. You might want to keep them separate for awhile so you can watch them together & let her settle in more. This is a huge move for puppies even when they are a little older.

| I would keep them seperated while you are not there. Even when they play it can get out of hand. I have 5 and when I am not around they all are in their own seperate x-pen. They get along good most of the time, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

| Is there any way you can possibly keep them separated. It would be great to keep them apart until he can be trained to be more careful with playing with her.

| I think dogs do well with companions. However, you do have to be cautious when they are not supervised. A local woman here had her male who was very tiny (under 2lbs full grown) kenneled with a female. When she got home from work the female had killed the male. I would never pen up two dogs together after seeing what happened to that one tiny male. You could put them close to each other so they can see/smell and know that they are not alone.

| Seperated Pls try to keep seperated when not at home, also keep a eye that the bigger puppy let the younger one eat. My miley would eat her food real fast , than turn around and push max away from his food ( he is smaller ) and try to eat it. So I had to keep a eye on them , never left out alone when I wasn't home. They r doing ok now she is 3 and he is 2 1/2. Congrats ! and good luck! bark@ulater! manina, miley, max |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would keep them separated until you know they are getting along. I have introduced puppies with older and bigger ones and when not at home I kept the newest one in a playpen or crate in the same room with the others until They were potty trained and I knew it was safe for them to be together. But I am retired so they were not alone for any long periods of time. Since yours are so close in age you may be able to put them together pretty quickly as they adjust to each other. You will most likely see if they are ok when they play while you supervise. I have found they do like the company of each other and work it out. Congratulations!! I think you did the right thing.

| My friend got two Jack Russel Terriors, brothers, and was crating them together until one of them had puncture wounds to his eye - TWICE! (Cost her 1000.00 to figure out what was happening!) Vet recommended crating them separate as they were just too active!
