| excited about key west next week~but not about having to leave my babiesss so, my fiance and i are going on our first ever vacation sans our two yorkies-we are leaving to go to key west for a week this sunday... I have a dear friend who is going to house-sit, which is fine, but I am still stressed!!! Yikes-hopfully I can relax an actually enjoy my trip instead of worrying aboutt them for the whole week! Can't imagine how I'd be acting if I had to board them Anyone else worry about their babies even when they KNOW they will be fine & well-taken care of???

| i know the feeling... i went to see family in Pennsylvania for 10 days and was worried sick about Coral. She was only 7 months when i left her and i thought she would think i abandoned her. I left her with a friend that also has a yorkie that Coral loves and knew she would be fine, but i still was worried sick. She did just fine (just minor set backs on potty training) and was so happy to see me when i picked her up. Have fun on your trip and call to get an update or two while your gone!

| Me, too. The first time I left Samantha, I went to India for 10 days. S's Aunt Cheryl, which whom I was traveling, told me daily that I could NOT call Egypt to check on her! She was at home with my housekeeper and she was fine, of course. But very, very happy to see me when I got back. Have a great vacation. At least you'll still be in the same country. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I know how you feel. I left mine a few weeks ago to go to AZ for out first vacation in 30 years(I never could leave my dog/dogs). Now my dtr is an adult and lives at home I thought I would try for my DH sake to go. I had the best time and I checked on them each day and they were fine. So go and relax and have a great time!! They will be happily awaiting your return.

| We left Stella for a week to go to Chicago only two weeks after we had gotten her! I was so worried about her! But Key West is a blast, you'll have lots of fun! Make sure you get your share of the Blond Giraffe's Key Lime Pie! |

| We travel 3-4 times per year for at least a week at a time. I use professional pet sitters who stay overnight and check in with them via email daily. We always miss them but I can't say that they miss us all that much! They are happy and content in their own home when we are away. They sleep in their bed, with the sitter, and their routine is not disturbed. We leave new toys for them to be given to them in the middle of the trip - who doesnt love presents - and some favorite treats. I ask the sitters to spend 5 minutes or so asking the dogs to sit, lay down, shake hands, etc to keep them mentally stimulated. With strict instructions, lots of thought and discussion about "what ifs" and good communication, I am able to enjoy my trips without feeling nervous about leaving them. Enjoy your trip to Key West --> your dogs will love you even more when you come back relaxed and happy after your trip!

| I haven't been on in a couple of days and was glad to see this post because I am going through the same thing right now. I haven't been away from my little man and I am flying to Virginia next week. He is staying with his daddy, but you know how that is.....not the same as mommy! I contemplated bringing him, but it is my first time flying and I'm not sure how he would do flying either! I know that I need to do what is best for him and that is staying home where he is safe and can keep his normal routine. How am I going to survive without him?
