| Newbie Hi all, We are new to the Yorkie community and have spent many days reading the website. As this is my first Yorkie, it does get confusing! I don't think there has ever been a time when I didn't own a dog, but this seems a little more challenging. Before "Sissy" arrived, I was reading books to get the general idea of what I was in for, then came upon this site. It's great to have so many hands on experiences! Just wanted to introduce myself and my gal. Looking forward to the challenges ahead. Thanks, Jan |

Yorkie Talker | To Newbie Welcome! You are at the starting gate of an adventure that will fill your heart to the brim, and then some. Challenging? Yes, at times a Yorkie can be a handful. Read as much as you can on behavior and training, and stick to it. Our little guy, Sammie, is now 9 years old. It seems like it was only yesterday that we brought him home. With every month that passes he becomes more and more an extension of my wife and me. What a beautiful little spirit – feisty, loving, jaunty, sensitive, playful, cuddly, happy and full of curiosity and excitement. Thankfully he remains very healthy, and nearly as active as he was when he was a pup. And all he asks of us is to simply be near us, to be with us. He’s a very special little friend. As you can tell we love him in a way that is impossible to describe. So, be strong, hang in there with the challenges. Your reward will be far greater than you could ever imagine. |
