| Praying for a Yorkie Dear Yorkie Forumites, My husband and I were in a motorcycle accident last fall. His injuries were much worse than mine. We are both recovering. On more than one occasion, therapists, doctors, nurses, my mom and a best friend recommended that we become owned by a puppy. Because of my husband's allergies, the doctor suggested a Yorkie. I have a co-worker who is willing to bring his over for a test. I've also invested in Allerpet, house allergen spray, and doggie allergy shampoo. My husband loves dogs, but is reluctant to try. If the test works, we are getting a Yorkie. I NEED a Yorkie (for anyone who has a dog, you know how theraputic they can be). All I ask is for your prayers that we will safely be owned by a Yorkie soon. I believe in the power of prayer. It is what has gotten us to this point in our recovery. Thank you for your time. |

YT Addict | Sending prayers your way....I must tell you that I am a big allergy sufferer and highly allergic to animals. I break out in hives if I touch a cat or dog, sneeze my head off and have wheezing attacks. I read alot about Yorkies before I got one and was so hesitant. I knew once I got him I would not be able to get rid of him if I suffered major allergy attacks. I have a friend that has one and was able to hold him with no problems. I just took the chance and he has been a gift from God...I have not had any problems. Good luck to you! |

| After much research we settled on a yorkie because we have in home daycares and a number of children with allergies. ALL kinds including pet. So far not one child has had a reaction to Millie. One of the selling points has been the fact that we have a dog (which all the parents love that their children can have the 'dog' experience without them having to get one) and that she doesn't shed or aggravate allergies. In fact one of parents was so pleased she got Amelia's half sister for her kids. One of whom has a dog allergy and has no problem around their Yorkie Papillon mix |

| Welcome to YT. I am so sorry for your accident and happy you are recovering. I don't know about allergies, but one month after Samantha adopted me I had major back surgery that kept me at home for two months, much of it flat on my back in bed. That fluff ball kept me entertained and cheered, not to mention loving me to death. She certainly speeded my recovery. She has also seen me through a serious shoulder surgery and was the best medicine I had. She and I hope you have your Yorkie soon. |

| Sorry about your accident! My daugther is allergic to alot of things mainly animals, she has had no allergic reaction what so ever to Laci, I didnt know anyone with a yorkie so I took her to a petstore a few times to hold one and play with one to see if there was any sort of reaction, there was none.
