| Breed characteristics So, when I was reading about Yorkies before I got one and I saw all the warnings about the breed that I decided I could live with I didn't realize they had left one out. They mentioned how attached my new little baby would be to me, but they failed to mention how attached I would be to him!! I can't stop thinking about him. When I'm at work I have to call my Mom at least a couple times a day to find out what he is doing. Even that...I had planned to take him to my Mom's for "puppy daycare" for the first and maybe 2nd week before I started leaving him home but I can't bring myself to do it. I always expect to love the furry members of my family but this is just silly!! hehe |

| Welcome to the wonderful world of yorkies!! I know exactly what you mean. I always thought people who were so attached to their dogs were just a little "off"... just goes to show me I should never judge! Ever since my Toby came into my life it's a whole different world! You might as well get used to it...it just gets stronger the longer you have them. You're in a good place at YT... we all understand exactly what you're feeling!!!

| Oh my gosh- I totally understand. I never thought I would be like this but these babies are just so loving and wonderful we become super attached. I worry and think about my babies all day long, but it's a good thing |

YT 500 Club Member | I had always liked the idea of a dog, but I had never really loved a dog since I was about 8 years old, the dog my dad bought for me when I was only one. So I always tried to find that love back with no luck. I was not a good dog parent. Then I got my Yorkie and the rest is history. I am so in love, and my husband has fallen as hard or maybe harder than me. He wanted a Golden, but now he said he would never have another breed.

| You are not alone. I have a hard time concentrating while at work. I feel sick when I have to leave mine. I try to run my errands at lunch time so I can get right home. The first thing I do when I arrive at work is check YT and check my favorite pet websites to see if any new items have come in stock online. This site helps me with my separation anxiety during the day. Sometimes I feel guilty because I did not have this much anxiety when I use to drop my kids off at daycare Last edited by luvmylacey; 07-26-2009 at 07:06 AM. |

| Me, too. I grew up with family dogs, but none of them were mine. When I moved to Egypt, I could finally have a dog of my own. Yorkies never entered my head, but a friend found Samantha and her siblings at the best pet shop in town. The owners knew her parents and their families, could tell me her birthday, told me to get her checked out, etc. I liked her and was pleased that she seemed immediately at home in my flat and my housekeeper adored her. Almost 6 years later, I look at her every day and am amazed at my good fortune. The only reason she is not completely spoiled is because I know it is not good for her. When I travel, my housekeeper stays here with her and I send them post cards, carry her pictures with me, and bore everyone I meet with how wonderful she is. She has toys from all my trips! Fortunately, my usual traveling companion - S's "aunt" who found her for me - has an amazing cat to talk about! Last edited by vlccairo; 07-26-2009 at 07:42 AM. Reason: move a sentence |

| I adore my Suzi . She is so loyal. ANd by my side, always .Suzi is my constant companion. ANd she is a little sweetheart. She loves to lick my face, and my sons face, everybody's face , who sits down on the couch, if you let her ! She loves little children too, that is her most favorite. Little kids ! The moment I walk out my door and have to leave , I miss my Suzi, and now I have a little Shih Tzu puppy to worry about too. The puppy is learning from Suzi, it's so cute , They play together all the time, I think Miely the baby, thinks she is a yorkie now. SHe does everything Suzi does . We have to fluff balls at our home , and love every moment of it. I could not ask for anything more. Our 12 week old baby now gives of kissess too, and it is so adorable.

| I know! I just got Sophie yesterday and I went to church this morning. I didn't want to leaver her. DH stayed home and she did fine. Didn't even cry that much either! She has to stay up if we aren't there to watch her because of our 3 cats, but she's doing great! Wish I could say the same about my worrying about her! |
