| ![]() When it is 90+ at 7 a.m. and at 9 p.m., and 113 during the day in AZ., it is hard to take our little yorkie for a walk. We invented a hide-and-seek game for him to get exercise in the house. My husband and I each take a few treats. He goes in one room that serves as the "base." He calls Shobi to him, and when Shobi gets there and sits, he gets a treat. That gives me time to "hide" in another room. Shobi has to find me by my voice as I call him. After he does and gets a treat, he is called back to the "base," and I move again. After a few well-rewarded runs around the house, Shobi has had as much exercise as he would have had on a walk! Hope this helps others who live in hot climates during Summer months! Shobi loves the game. |

| ![]() That's so cute! I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for the idea!

| ![]() That is a very cute idea. We play hide and seek with toys, but your idea is a nice change. We have the "indoor" exercise problem in the winter months when it's zero and single digits outside. We're always looking for new ways to keep them amused. Thanks for the tip.

| ![]() We did that lots when we had our westie, both inside and outside. He loved it! With the heat we are having here I may need to try this with our yorkies, but they do love to play fetch and get a pretty good workout with that, too.
