| Papers with my yokie? Hi everyone I would like to tell you i purchased my yorkie baby girl last week. She is now 9 weeks old. I just wondered do you only need papers with your puppy for breeding? I was told i dont need any papers unless i was breeding her. The breeder asked me if i wanted her registered or not. I said no because i wasnt going to breed her, also she weighs 1.2 lbs at the moment, is this a healthy weight? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome! Congrats on your new puppy. I don't really care about papers but the breeder of Pixie and Dixie said she wanted them registered because it is like their birth certificate. Her is the US AKC is the main registry. Sounds like a good weight but make sure she is eating frequently to prevent low sugar.

YT 1000 Club Member | Roxie came with papers for me to send in but I never did. I wasn't planning on breeding her. She's just for me to love and cherish.

| You do not need papers unless you are going to breed, but it is also nice because you get to see your pup's family line and where they come from. It isn't expensive to get your dog registered and I personally found it worthwhile. She is also at a healthy weight. You may want to consider purchasing NutriCal though because she is so small. Trust me it gives you much peace of mind having it.
