I have no doubt once she is over the first 2-3 weeks everyone would want her! But it's those first few weeks that are so hard. I am happy if she just gets a chance to grow up. I know she would be loved and cared for if someone put that many hours into her they would not let just anyone have her.. I also know that anyone willing to do this must have a heart of gold and she would be in good hands. We have no experts here and there were tears at both tube feedings. All anyone can do is try.

| I would be crying, too! I can't imagine having to tube feed! It probably feels like you are hurting the baby.......one of those "it's for your own good" things!! you're doing a great job!! Hope betsi can help!!

| Oh, I would love to have her,I too was born with a cleff palet, so I know all to well . I would not have the time to tube feed her, i would love to give her a home though. Since my sassy died at 3 months, I have been longing for another, but we spent so much trying to keep her alive at the end. I cannot afford to buy one anytime soon. | If we were just closer, I would take her NOW! I'm going to call my vet in the morning to see if he'll give me a little break on her medical expenses. He might..he's a really nice young man, and we hit it off quite well. Do you happen to have a picture of her? I'm so glad you are trying so hard to give her a chance. Bless you all! Is the rest of the litter healthy? Are the parents healthy? I guess I'm asking if you really think she has a chance...

| Sounds like she has a chance if an angel like you comes along and gives her a chance

Her medical expensis could be anything, she could get phnumonia if she gets any fluid in her lung. The surgery should not be too bad. The cleft is quite small. Her Mom is healthy and so is the Dad. She was born with a brother and he is just fine. she is a good birth weight...so yes. I think she has a chance. I will be more comfortable saying that in the morning. The girl who has her has been up a long time. I'm praying she can keep it up through the night until I can get ahold of her.

| I hope your friend AND the puppy make it through the night. I'm so glad you can take over in the morning! If anyone else lives closer to Gulfport and is willing to take her, then by all means do what is best for the puppy. My dear hubby is sound asleep, so I can't talk this over with him til morning. Hold on to life sweet baby girl

| I am on the other side of Pensacola. I have not tube fed, but have cared for a litter of 5 when their mom died. I did the every 2 hour feedings and they all made it just fine. I do have other dogs here: an 17 yo dachshund, a Jack Russell, and 2 male Yorkies (one 3 yrs old and one 4 months old). I am retired. I would be willing to take the little one and nurse her through the next few months.

| Please just make sure she is fed every two hours.. that is most important the consistency in her eating.. if it is not every two hours she can and will go down fast.. Tube feeding is not that hard once you feel comfortable and know what to do and what to watch for.. if I do not feel the tube is going in right, I pull it out and try again..I found the hardest part was the loss of sleep.. first few nights were ok.. but after days turn into a week.. I was going just for gracie.. I always make sure they are fussing.. if they are fussing it seems to show me the tube is in the right place..gee it is hard to explain.. |

| I'm going to Pensacola next week and I'd be willing to help if the owner can care for the baby for another week. I can't say I have any exp with tube feeding although I'd be willing to learn and I have all the time in the world to take care of her. |

I will also post tomorow and let you all know that she made it through the night and was picked up safe. I hope this is the best place for her. The woman has a 8 week old yorkie puppy at home.
