| I am beyond excitement!!!! In February 2008 someone went through our neighborhood and stole about 5 yorkies, including my Chewie. We posted signs and called animal clinics and shelters and I also called the microchip company that holds the registration to his chip and listed him as stolen....and then we waited and waited and waited. We even added a new fur boy to our home over Christmas named Levi. Well, this morning my husband got a call from an animal clinic about 20 miles away from us. They had Chewie!!!!! I know there is some controversy about microchipping your fur babies, but it really does work! Chewie is proof of it. It only took 19 months, but we have Chewie back! I am soooo excited. Unfortunately I am at work so I can't see him until this afternoon. My dh said that he is very plump and obviously did not lack food. Said his haircut is terrible, but Chewie is otherwise still extremely friendly and my girls are eating him up with affection. DH also said he doesn't remember his name and really can't tell whether or not he remembers him or the girls. I am curious as to how he will react to his old buddy, Milo, and then with our new yorkie puppy. Hopefully he is still sweet natured and loves all people and all animals. I am off tomorrow so will take him to my vet for a check up to make sure he's as healthy as dh says he looks. It's going to be a long work day!! There are happy endings so I wanted to share mine. |

| OMG!! What wonderful news!! Please tell us more... how, who where! How far away from home was he? Did his 'new' owners take him to the vet and thats how they found you? or did his "new/old' owners try registering him with the microchip company. Would you be ale to tell the vet/'owners' he was stolen. Sorry I am so excited for you. Good luck |

| Just goes to show..you can never give up. Always keep believing your baby will come back to you. What a wonderful ending to a sad and scary story. Hope your little guy is healthy and I know in my heart they do remember everything. He knows he just doesn't understand. He is probably confused. I'm sure he will miss whomever has been taking care of him for the past year and a half. Good luck to you and congratulations !!

| Yeah!!!!! Microchipping does work. Did you hear the story on the news a couple of days ago about the cat who found his way home after six years? His owners assumed he had been hit by a car because they never found him. Then they got a call from a local animal shelter. He had apparently been found and adopted years ago, but his owner had died so he ended up at the shelter. They scanned his chip and he was reunited with his owners! |
