How long have you had him? It may be that time will help. My guy is very attached and finds it hard when I go back to work (I'm off every summer). Its just a matter of waiting it out and he does readjust.

I know that with small children its a matter of gradually increasing the time away, with lots of praise and reassurance.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with your little one. How old is he? If he's still young maybe it's just the hyper puppy stage?
I hope that the ideas that some are offering are helping. If not, and your down to your last resort, I'd be more than happy to take him in. I'm not to far, I live in Irvine, and there is another pup here in my condo. Just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring in case it came to that.
Keep working with him and maybe things will get better. I'm rooting for you!!
