| ![]() When walking Tyler we always use a harness, we have never put a collar him or on any of our Yorkies ever. My question is: If we decide to put a collar on Tyler just to hold identification in case he get lost what type of collar would you recommend............thanks |

| ![]() I have seen people use a quick release collar , this will prevent an accident.. They sell these in the cat area at pet stores.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() I have my guys chipped and collared w/ ID tags at all times. I get the break away collar from here: Cloe's Collars And make sure you fit the collar properly - not too loose at all, bc you don't want it to get hooked on anything.

| ![]() Ours both were just normal small collars but they have had them on since they were babies (we dont use them to walk but just to have for ID). I have used the quick release collars but have found that they sometimes wear out (the plastic pieces) and have come home and they were on the floor and put them on and again they were off. Good luck finding something that you like.

| ![]() I use a harness for my baby and i also put on a collar with all his info on it... it doesnt bother him at all iv'e been doing this since he was small so he is used to it... i like the harness because its better to use with a retractable leash... instead of around the neck which could injure there baby small fragile little necks...

| ![]() I just use a regular collar for ID tags. I also have an ID tag on his harness in case he gets away on a walk. Some people have no idea what a microchip is and won't even take the dog to the vet. Collars would reunite him with you quicker IMO. I use a leather one right now but I ordered a new Aspen Pet one from Petco online. They have a huge sale right now. The collar is about 50% off, so about $6, and then you get $5 off the leash (which was orginally $12, but is on sale for $6, so it is only 99 cents). Total: $7 for collar & 6' leash!! Also if you spend $50 you can get $10 back and free shipping if you use pay later. There's always stuff you can buy for them!!

| ![]() We use a harness on Tiki and she only wears it when we leave the property. We are totally fenced and she can't get out. Plus she is chipped. On top of that, she comes when called. She will not cross the logs out front, no matter what. We have the world's perfect little girl. Tiki's proud Mom |
