| London gets spayed today London is getting spayed today, I had to drop her off last night at the Humane Society again, it broke my heart to have to take her back there, not that it's a bad place because it isn't, but I'm afraid she will think we have abandoned her. Picture this: You have lived in a cage all your life with little human contact, then some angels came and took you and all the "inmates" around you. You got bathed, clipped, given shots and in one day had more human contact than you had had for the 3 years you have lived. Then a crazy lady and her daughter came to the new place and picked you up and cried and within 60 minutes you were in a new home. Then after a week you are finally realizing these people love you and you have a home. Then they take you back to the "new" place where they found you and drop you off there again. Those people put you back in a cage and you don't know what's coming next! I am so worried that London thinks we have abandoned her, I can't wait to pick her up today. London was doing so well and we finally "graduated" to puppy pads and she was actually letting me know when she had to go potty. I really don't want her surgery to set her back in her progress. I will be spending the rest of the day worrying about her. Good morning, everyone, just wanted to share my fears with people that understand. I know she will probably be okay. |

| Cesar says "dogs live in the moment. What's past is past". I felt the same way when I took my boxer to be spayed. She was still a little groggy when I picked her up so she slept all the way home and when she woke up it was like nothing had ever happened. I think it's more our feelings than theirs. Our dogs love us there is no doubt, but they don't think like us. They react to our vibes so if you act like it's no big deal, then to them it isn't. |

| Oh, I wish I knew what to say to help you right now. I completely understand how you're feeling - I would have the exact same worries. Just try to give her extra special lovins when she comes home, and remember that she shouldn't have to go back there for a loooooong time, if ever. She'll know then that she's really home and loved.

| Thanks ! Thanks for the kind words! I NOW I'm being crazy about this but she is all I'm able to think about today. I just want her home. I know she'll be coming home with stitches and will need extra attention so I've cancelled all my piano students for this afternoon so I can just pay attention to her! |

| Aww, I understand your concerns. Try to remind yourself this will be just a quick flash compared to all the happy days ahead she will spend with you. I'm sure she'll be very happy to see you this afternoon!

| The morning that I was supposed to take Lucy in, my son had a doctor appt that ran over and the movers had just shown up at the house to start packing up the place so DH couldn't take her to the vet. I called the vet and told them I'd have to cancel, but they offered to come to my house to pick her up, at no charge. I was taken back that people still actually do make "doggy house calls"! Anyway, so that is what we did and I wasn't there to kiss her goodbye and it was the hardest night to get through. She came through with flying colors and didn't really miss a beat. As a matter of fact, I had to keep her in her kennel mostly so she wouldn't play with Max too much!

| Hang in there, she will probably be sleepy today but do offer her water, even if you have to give it to her in a syringe... and give her some food, even if she just eats a few dry kibbles. Tomorrow she may feel more energetic, but keep her relaxed. I am told that the surgery is very quick, our worrying is so looooong though. Take care, praying that Londons recovery is a success and her recovery is quick.

| London London acts like nothing happened to her. She was a little sleepy when we picked her up but that didn't last long. I was told not to let her run or jump for a few days but I'm having trouble stopping her. She is a happy little girl and I'm so relieved! Thanks for asking about her. Hope Chloe is doing better. |
