Ha ha. Well, a cutesy nickname is better then a stranger calling your baby a rat (the way this guy said it)...it's all about the way in which it is used!

i sometimes take my Bryan to a Dog park and those puggles can be pretty wild!!!! Fortunatally my Bryan is come and sit between my feet until the heard of dogs calm down....then he will go get out there and play...I sorry that Loli was treated that way by the other dogs...I've had that problem once with dogs trying to mount by Bryan and when I see the owner is not doing anything i have no problem going over and pushing their dog off of him....Plus Bryan will run like hell and not gonna be anyone's _itch LOL!!!!

I wonder too if the lady is still learning and working on this dogs behavior. It also sounds like it might have been their first trip to the dog park? Hopefully she works on correcting her dogs behaviour. Even still I'm so glad your baby is ok and it would have scared the crap out of me too. Also glad the lady left and made sure ya'll were ok. I'll bet you were ready for yesterday to end. It was one of those, "how much more can I take days?".

Thank you. It is so nice to hear that I am not just "crazy" and that you would have been scared for your baby as well.

This morning she was back to her normal self. Running, playing even begging to play with her friends next door. She has such a fun playful personality that it hurt me to see her fearful and shakey.

I never imagined I would feel the way I do about this precious fur-angel. I lover her so much that I hurt when I know she is even the slighest bit unhappy.

You know when you guys were talking about "dog parks " I was quite jealous. After hearing so many horror stories about them I'm rather glad we don't have them in the UK so I wouldn't be tempted to take my baby there.

I can't blame you for not having the words to say something back. Iy must've been ever sooo hard for you! One would think if you know your dog is not social enough to play with others,keep it on a leash until it is! So sorry to hear about this experience. Yours and her's!!

All of the sudden we hear the same thing play out again except this time it was with a dog a little bit bigger than the "attacking dog!" We heard some shreaks from the dog then the dogs owner yelling and crying.

We took Loli outside the park and as we were holding and cuddeling her some more we heard the same shreeks a third time! I was very upset that this lady was letting her dog terorize every dog in the park. Although her dog did not physically hurt Loli she obviously has a problem and shouldn't be allowed in the park with out a leash...or maybe not at all.

I told my husband I was going to go talk with the lady about her dog. Just then the lady came walking up the hill with her barking dog in her arms.

She yells over to us "Is your dog okay!? Just so you know we are leaving the park!"

I didn't say anything although there was alot I wanted to say! I was upset that she let her dog stay for as long as she did!

On our way out I noticed there were all sorts of signs hanging up with the rules and regulations of the park. There were all sorts of notices posted everything from "clean up after your dog" to "leave the park by 9 PM" I didn't see anything posted about dog behaivor. I really feel like writing the city to let them know they need to post something about this.

What do you think? I would appreciate your feed back. Have you had a similal situation? I think this park is a great place to let dogs run and play but dog owners should responsible enough to know if there dog is fit to play in this kind of enviornment!

Any advice you have would be great!

I am sorry to rant and rave but I had to get all my frustration out and I knew this was a good place to do it!

i'm glad your baby is ok . i'm sure she will b fine next time but i bet u wont u will b thinking about it .You have 2 take her back tho just because she had a bad experience she needs 2 go & play goodluck x

It's tough because Loli loves the dog park. We have never had a problem until yesterday. I hate to keep her from it because she loves it so much. We will try it agin this weekend. I am for sure going to be on my toes!

Yes Im sure you will be on your toes next time.Its such a shame that there are not enough good stories about them though as the idea of a dog park is a brill one.
Do they have big dogs in one fenced off area and smaller dogs in another?

I feel your frustration. I had a similar situation last weekend with Missy. Except our "attacker" was a Boxer, and if she would have gotten ahold of Missy, I'm sure she would have killed her. I managed to yank Missy straight up into my arms (after they scuffled around for a bit at my feet) because she was wearing her harness. The one thing that impresses me about the lady who's dog went after Loli is that she asked if your dog was OK, and she left the park. The owner of Missy's attacker was very rude and after her dog went after Missy, she actually said, "that would have been a tasty treat hey" to her dog and patted it on the head! When I told her it was a rude thing to say, and she should have apologized for her dogs actions, she shrugged and said "I thought it was funny". So at LEAST this lady you had to deal with had some compassion, and enough common sense to take her dog out of the park.

I'm really sorry that Loli and you had to go through that. It's stressful, I know! I'm so glad that she wasn't hurt.

Maybe next time you take her try holding her for a bit and watch what activity is taking place. When and if you feel that it's safe to let her go without any threats present you can put her down.

Plus I know what you mean about being so upset when something makes your baby unhappy. I worry so much about this little dog being happy at all times and when something in her world is out of sorts it breaks my heart. They're such big spirited little dogs and you don't want anything to break that.

They do have a small dog area, infact that is where we were. I am guessing that dog was 15 lbs are so and the sign said any dog under 20 pounds may enter.

Funny thoough on our way out Loli always wantes to play with the bug huge dogs...they are always so cute with her!
