I forgot to say, I was responding to an earlier post when you were talking about how it is challenging to change a person's mind by being more tactful. I was trying to explain my earlier comment that it is easier to help somebody when you do not judge or bash his or her opinions. My posts were never intended to hurt somebody's feelings. From being on this forum, I have experience people attacking me for getting my facts wrong, and I did not want it to happen to somebody else. Everybody have a nice day. :) |
Ten pages of posts. That's what I just read. So now after reading what I did, I'll post my 2 cents. I'm not a breeder of Yorkies. Was a breeder, again not Yorkies. However, a breeder is a breeder no matter what the breed. And all breeders strive to better the breed. One poster said when buying from a show person, sometimes you don't get a show puppy living up to the standard. Far from it. You never said it better. No matter how much I blended pedigrees to look close to perfection of standard, I threw golden puppies I thought came from Mars. Well I don't mean Mars but so far away from the standard  And I bred for over 10 years. No show person, throws all show puppies. I don't believe I heard a show breeder here to ever claim that either. I hope not. Because it's not true. The OP mentioned in her post about showing being Political. How very, very true that is. Some show people slam each other more than we slam each other here. Sometimes it's down right vicious. Everyone wants the AKC top standard dog. BTW, there is no perfect dog anyway. None exists. Jumping on someone's grammar. Sorry that hurt. I read that and just said omg, how sad. Then people deliberately spelling words incorrectly. Remember, there are some very intelligent people in our history who could not read, or had dyslexia (sp?) We don't know other people. When in doubt, don't. Breeding teeny tiny. I don't agree with it. In my humble opinion, they are such delicate little creatures. However, people want them and they will get them. With that being said, it is better to go with experience. If you are not going to stop them, help them to become better breeders. Reading 10 pages, my brain started to fizzle. The posts were going in every direction, lol. It reminded me of telephone when I was in school. A child would whisper a word in the childs ear next to him. That child would whisper the word to the next in line. By the time it reached the last child, the word was so far away from the original word started. I think that's what happens in long threads. With that being said, to the OP. Please see if you can just put a few periods in your posts to help us a little better. Sometimes I'm horrible with proof reading. More often than not, I don't. I do agree with you on some things and yet there are some things I don't. I think we can all agree to disagree, as long as we are respectful to one another. Just a couple days ago, I myself got a little angry at someone, who doesn't take advice. I went today and re-read it, ouch. Naughty me. Sometimes we post in anger. We should all take a deep breath before we post, especially if we are angry. Have a good nite Carol and Jemma |

Anne -- I, in no way, was talking about your posts!!! You did not come on here and try to act like the very experienced breeder that all should acknowledge as the expert on breeding tiny yorkies safely. You did not claim a mentor with 50 years experience had guided your decisions. I only referred to one post and it definately was NOT yours! All I am saying is, IF you want to be the SOURCE of expert information, then you have to put the information in a way that can be useful. I even said it needs not be perfect -- but one run-on sentence for 10 lines and no breaks???? Intelligence itself is not a requirment to take a little care with what you write. I certainly am no mental giant and do not claim to be. You took my post wrong. I am very sorry if it hurt your feelings but it was not addressed to you and I have no idea why you would think it would have been. What the heck do you mean about daily needs to degrade people and wanting you upset? Why would I want that? When have we ever had words? This is a total overreaction to something that had nothing to do with you. But isn't that the way of most problems on YT. I made a post that was not directed at all to you. You for some reason known only to you, decided it was meant for you. You lambast me. And what, now should I lambast you back. I don't think so. Let me just say -- you made a mistake here -- I was NOT talking about your posts or saying that all posts need to be literary masterpieces! I still hold true though, that if you want to tout yourself as some special expert, you should sound like one -- both in content and the way you write it. And that is a universal "you" not to mean Anne. |
People sure love to turn things around and put different words in people's mouths (or in this case, keyboards). I never mentioned the first thing about words spelled wrong or grammar problems. Not one thing! I was only talking about the first post in the thread being difficult to follow as it is not punctuated or broken up by paragraphs. It had nothing to do with being smarter or less so, being from the country or the city, old or young. It had only to do with common courtesy to others. Do you notice it only takes one person saying something that never happened and then several more have to say, "I agree that is not right!" Please use some breaks to make it easier on the eyes. I am old and I will admit the first post of this thread and the even longer letter she wrote on her site to Amanda, give me serious eye strain. Capitalize if you want or don't if you would prefer not. Spell your words somewhere close and I can figure it out. Grammar -- I am from the south and we take a lot of liberties with that so -- no problem! Everyone ranting about people that don't like poor grammer or words spelled wrong, give it a break! I never said that here or any other threads! Don't try to make something into something that it is not, just to create more drama! |
I don't believe I was referring to you. Why do you think that? |

I agree that the OP's posts aren't easy to read, you do have a valid point that if they were written differently they would be easier to understand and her point may be clearer to some of us. It may have been wiser to post that opinion to the OP in a private message as others did take off and run with it. That does happen all the time on message boards though. And WOW.. this one did go totally off topic :) |

Jemma -- if you were addressing your last post to me -- No, I did not think you were referring to me earlier. I had not read your earlier post until you wrote that. You did write something about "jumping on someone's grammar" which really, and truly never happend. But, no -- my post was not referring to you, referring to me. Whew -- that is confusing as well! :) |

I do NOT believe in breeding for tinies (I don't care what the public wants). The public needs to be educated on why tinies shouldn't be bred period! And NO I'm not attacking the OP because I have no clue who she is because I don't go to the featured breeders section have no use for it. The thread is here and open to comment on :) I don't have to advertise to sell my puppies, most of my new families come from referrals from others and those that I know and yes I am on the YTCA referral list and that's all I need. I'm really not here to be rude at all just stating my opinion :) Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |
