| I think it's a puppy thing....same thing happens here even if we leave a newspaper, magazine, tv guide, etc., down within reach where they can get to it. I have seen the thing you can buy at the pet store that holds the pee pee pad in place but haven't personally tried it. Mine are about six months old now and they have slacked off on the shredding though......only happens every now and then now. Hang in there! I think it dissipates as they get older.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | They're addicted to shredding paper and nothing short of a Rehab for Paper Shredders will cure this. I think it's a built in Yorkie trait that if you don't shred paper - you may not be a real yorkie! lol - I love seeing their faces when they try to act like they didn't do it and the evidence is HANGING off their chins. |

| Welcome to YT Lil smokie. Your baby is adorable and cute. My name is Marie and my Yorkie's name is Gucci and she is 1 yr old. She used to shred her pee pad all the time when she was younger. I bought a pee pad holder and I tell her "No". Eventually it work and she doesnt chew on the pads anymore. Im not expert but I think is a puppy thing. Cant wait for stories and more pics of your little one. |

| just bought wee pad holders. they are great, they hold the pads in place and cant leak from the bottom cause there is plastic in between the pad and the floor.. try it, your puppy shouldn't shred anymore |

| I started using small carpets instead. They sell washable puppy pads at PetSmart, but they are about $25 ea. The little carpet pieces can be found for around $2/ea. I wash and hang to dry. I do have the rather good fortune of having no carpeted areas downstairs. I gate the upstairs as I am not sure they would recognize the difference in carpets. (plus my skinboys can't see poo or pee and walk it all over the house)
