| She BITES! HELP! Okay...My Loli is the sweetest little thing in the world but she has a nasty habit! She bites! It's never aggressive more like playful but it is getting out of control! My husband and I are beside our selves! We have tried "yelping" when she nips at us. Our vet suggested we do this but it hasn't helped! I have tried to have toys handy so that when she starts nipping I can give her a toy to chew on but it only works once in a while. She is 9 months old and this is just becoming a problem. I was finding teeth around the house the first part of April and all her new teeth seem to be in so I do not understand why she is doing this! Is this normal for her age? My friends 4 year old said to me "Loli is mean...she bites me!" It broke my heart! Loli thinks she is being playful but no one else does! Please help me! Any advice for suggestions would be great! |

My Little Man! Donating Member | Ok next time Loli will bite make a very loud "Ouch" and make that part of your body limb. Repeat that as often as she bites. Usually that works. Your baby will then understand that she hurt you.

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | I recently got a 8 month old male, Mikey, who was also a major biter. The breeder apparently didn't teach him that biting was bad. What I did was use my hand and push his face away from me and said sternly "NO BITING" then I also removed him from my lap and ignored him for a bit. After doing this for about two weeks, Mikey no longer bites me, he'll sometimes go after one of my other dogs and I'll tell him no biting and he seems to get the message. |

| If she is just playing, that may just be it. My Uni is 2 years old, she never snaps at anyone or any dog. BUT when she is playing, a lot of the time she will try to bite our hands. She is just playing. Is Loli growling while she tries to bite? does she growl a lot to other dogs/people? i tried the "yelp" method with Uni when she was younger. it only worked once, she caught on too fast. More than anything I think she is teething, Uni was biting a lot when she was younger. She grew out of it. give your baby lots of bones to chew on.

My Little Man! Donating Member | I am glad to hear that she is doing better. Sometimes by just saying ouch it does not work that is why you have to make part of your body limb. That is when they realize they hurt you. Good for you to address this issue now. The sooner the better.
