| I adopted from Precious Paws Asian Dog Rescue their website is asiandogrescue.net and it was such a positive experience. I didn't have to go to far from Atlanta to pick her up. You might keep checking their website for adoptable yorkies. |

| I just got my new guy from a rescue. I traveled 2 hours to get him but would of went further if I had too. You are not always going to find a rescue in your back yard. I looked at Pet Finder everyday for a month until I saw the right guy and had him within 3 days. Rescues require vet references, interviews, home inspection and some require fences. It is not always an easy process but well worth it. I know in my area in PA finding a Yorkie in a SPCA or area no kill shelter isn't very likely. I paid $400.00 for my guy, but he was already nutered, microchipped, vet visit, and shots, and groomed, so it was well worth the money. Yorkies can also have alot of medical problems so as with any dog you need to be prepared financially for this. One nice thing with going the rescue is the dog may be in a foster home so you get info as to if they get along with other dogs, cats, kids ect... and any known medical problems. My guy was 8 months when I got him and I have seen some younger on a rescue. |
