| So sad i just brought Chicle back from the vet for his neutering ... hes very much in pain .. he is whimpering and just very mad... he doesnt like the ecollar at all but when itried to take the ecollar off he went straight for the sutures. so the collar is back on.. and he off an on tries to take it off. you guys im regretting this.. he looks like hes in so much pain. he also got 5 tooth pulled so he is definitely not a happy camper. I noticed that his right front leg was shaved down... i called the vet and they told me that that is where the catheter goes.... is this true for all cases? I was wondering what ointment i can use, if i can use one?

| Awww...poor baby...I don't blame him. I think those ecollars are awful....did you try a onesie to keep him away from the sutures? That usually works well. Did he get pain meds? Are you looking for an ointment to use on the incision? I would ask the vet about that...I got in trouble cuz i gave Buddha a bath like 5 days after hsi surgery...oops...didn't know that was a no-no. |

| I am so sorry he isn't feeling well. This gets me a little scared. Starsky just got neutered today and the vet makes them stay overnight to be observed. Did your little guy have to stay over night too? I hope Starsky isn't in to much pain. The house feels so empty without him. I really miss him not going to bed with us!

| Aww...Poor little guy! Your experiencing the worst right now and it will get better pretty fast actually. Not that it helps to hear that but I do know what your feeling. They shaved Ted's leg too. I agree with Kim I would call the vet and ask about an ointment before just doing it. Also definitely at least try the onsie that alone will make him much more comfortable and happy too.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Poor baby - I think its the first 24 hours that most of us had any worries over but I hate hearing about him in pain - Cheri just had her surgery and didn't cry at all - I think they all have different pain thresholds...If your vet gave you pain medication - I would let him have it and just try to let him rest - poor little guy - I hope he's Ok thru the night but I bet you see a big change tommorrow.....Chanel and Cheri send him really gentle kisses |

| oh you guys... today is better than yesterday. he ususally sleeps in a crate and i decided to keep the collar on him while he sleeps b/c i dont want him to be messing around down there while I sleep. but my sister didnt think that he would be comfy being in his crate with the collar on b/c the collar took up so much space and since hes not used to it he didnt manuver himself well with it... it was the funniest and pathetic thing to watch,,, my poor baby. so my sister thought up to gate him in my room bigger space and more comfortable for him. he slept well during the nite i just kept waking up often, like when i first got him practically ddint sleep a wink.. but he was fine. im just keeping my eye on him LIKE A HAWK so that he doesnt lick .. i dont want to keep the ecollar on him during the day ... only when i see that i cant take it no more but ill be very patient .. i will only try to keep the collar on him during the night. I havent tried the onsie idea b/c i dont want him to pee on himself .. he is pad trained so he goes when he has to go. I have been giving him so many treats im afraid he might get an upset tummy... so now im giving him apples and ice to play with ... Im soooo tired... but imma tough it out .... thanks all for your support. heres a pic of him right after i brought him home fromthe vet. I will call the vet to see if i can put an ointment on... you know ... i was lookiing at his "package" and it might be swollen or somethign but it still looks like he has some of his "package".. very strange.. anyone ever went through this??

| I hope he gets back to his normal self... i just want him to sleep for a bit .. usually he sleeps at this time but hes still up so i put him inside his crate... w/o his collar so im every min. checking up on him and waking him.. so i have to trust that he wont lick b/c HE KNOWS when hes in his crate its TO SLEEP... no funny business. so so far so good. oh my boy was he HUMPING and he looked more into it .. he had like 4 sessions and he gave it his all in each one... it was really weird.. i tried to stop him but it only made him go at it even more.

| Get well soon WOW I am surprised he is still doing so bad. Starsky came home today and I can barely tell he had anything done down there. He has the tinest incision and his sac is a little swollen. He of course spent the night at the vets after the surgery, but when I went to get him, he was jumping all over the place. He jumps up and off the couch with no problem. I have to tell him to calm down. He even attempted to hump his favorite pillow. He didn't get into it like he used to though. I have to give him a pain pill at night and that just makes him very tired. The vet did not send me home a collar cone and so far Starsky doesn't even bother to lick or look there. I guess like people each dog is different. Maybe some have a higher pain tolerance than others. So sorry about your little guy. I hope he gets well really soon.
