| ![]() Great to hear the critters are home and well. After a little extra TLC, they will be back to normal. I don't think that will be too hard to do with such cuties. ![]()

| ![]() I am so glad to hear both are home safe and sound. It's eerie that you post this story. I live in an urban area that backs up to a park. My dogs have chased off raccoon several times from the yard so I now go out first and make a lot noise and trigger all the sensor lights before bringing them out (my neighbors probably think I am crazy). Last night I heard a rustling in the brush across the street (nothing there but brush and old train tracks) while I was out with the dog. I was very nervous because my neighbors said coyotes have also been seen on the tracks. So I am keeping a close eye on the noise and shooing the dogs in. Just as I got them in I turn around to see a raccoon emerge from the brush into the light and literally stand there and stare at me. It was HUGE!!! I couldn't believe how forward it was. I was making a lot of noise and it had no problem staring me down. After your story I am going to have to be much, much more cautious. Anyways, again, so glad that all is well!! |

| ![]() I have actually been following this since you first posted but didn't have a chance to reply. I'm so glad that your cutie is ok, and that your kitty is home safe now too. Raccoons can be so nasty, luck was by your side the night of the altercation. That pictures looks like he had a rough time and doesn't feel to great, I bet he will be back to normal very soon with those antiboiotics in him

| ![]() How scary for you all! Glad that your pup and kitty are ok! When I was a kid, we lived out in the country and one morning, our 2 dogs got into a fight with a racoon in our shed where the garbage was. It sounded horrible and the dogs eventually came running out. The racoon was hurt and died. Our dogs were probably 40 and 60 lbs though. I can't imagine a little yorkie would be any match for a racoon! |

| ![]() What an outpouring of good will!! It really touches my heart. I was so upset last night and felt kind of helpless when my kitty wouldn't come home, and I had to wait for the vet to open the next morning. It really was a big help to me to be able to post here and get some feedback and support. As for the saliva issue, I actually ended up washing AJ last night because I did put hydrogen peroxide on the wound (I used a cotton ball for that), and then was worried he would lick it and so ended up washing and drying him. So I think I might have missed. Poor baby, I could tell how much that peroxide hurt when I put it on, but the vet said it was a good thing to do. Anyway, I'm looking forward to bedtime tonight, with my two babes snug safe in their beds (which is often times my bed). Everyone here is just wonderful, and I really do appreciate each and every one of you. Maluhia (Peace) |

| ![]() So glad that AJ and your kitty are fine. Just last week I had a scare with Piper and a raccoon. It was about 10:00PM and I put Piper out for the last time. She has an x-pen, and I usually go up on the deck and watch while she potties. My whole back yard is lit with numerous halogen lights. All of a sudden I see movement and something runs right up to the x-pen and Piper goes right up to it and they are nose to nose. My 22 year old son who was with me ran off the deck and chased the animal away. He told me it was a huge raccoon. The whole incident really gave me a scare. Now I stand right next to the pen when Piper is out in the dark.
