I am so glad to hear both are home safe and sound. It's eerie that you post this story. I live in an urban area that backs up to a park. My dogs have chased off raccoon several times from the yard so I now go out first and make a lot noise and trigger all the sensor lights before bringing them out (my neighbors probably think I am crazy). Last night I heard a rustling in the brush across the street (nothing there but brush and old train tracks) while I was out with the dog. I was very nervous because my neighbors said coyotes have also been seen on the tracks. So I am keeping a close eye on the noise and shooing the dogs in. Just as I got them in I turn around to see a raccoon emerge from the brush into the light and literally stand there and stare at me. It was HUGE!!! I couldn't believe how forward it was. I was making a lot of noise and it had no problem staring me down. After your story I am going to have to be much, much more cautious. Anyways, again, so glad that all is well!! |
