| I need help for a small female Yorkie with LS I was just talking with my sister and she told me about her friend who has a tiny 6 month old female Yorkie who has been diagnosed with LS. She has her on prescription food and medication but the price for surgery is out of her reach so she is looking for a home who can care for her or a rescue that can take her or help somehow. I told my sister to have her call or email me and I'll try to help but I'd like to get her to join YT for help too. Does anyone have any suggestions or information I can pass along? |

| Thanks Kellie. She is supposed to get in touch with me so I'd like to have some information to pass along to her when she does. I feel bad for her...for both of them. |

| I don't know where she lives, but if you do you can go to Petfinder.com and do a search for rescue groups in her area that may be able to help. How sad. I'll be praying for the little baby. Any idea how much surgery is?

| What state are you located in? There are plenty of Yorkie Rescues that have the capability to help. There are also other options like Care Credit to are available to help your sister friend pay for surgery. Has she contacted the breeder? Does she have a contract or health gurantee? I am sending you a PM with my email address.

| PLEASE contact: RetroDoggy Rescue,Michigan Yorkshire Terrier Rescue,Michigan Maltese Rescue There are in MI and I can tell you that they have taken in sooooooooooooo many Liver Shunt and liver issue dogs ~ In my mind and heart - They would be the BEST place for this pup to go. They will get her the LS surgery asap and they are soooooooooooo experience with the after care, supplements etc... They also have the Dog Liver Disease group on Yahoo that a lot of us belong to. Also, YorkieLuv with Miko is very good friends with them. DogLiverDisease : Dog Liver Disease This is how much faith and trust I have with this rescue. *IF* I had an LS dog that I couldn't care for - I would do what ever I needed to, to get that dog to Olga with Retro Doggy Rescue There are plenty of very good Yorkie Rescues - HOWEVER, a Liver Shunt Baby - No doubt in my mind that Olga is who I would say 100% would go above and beyond with this type of special need.
