Brb Alfie is pestering for a walk We live on the edge of a village in Staffordshire at the highest point and there are some woods behind our house full of bluebells right now Alfie loves his patrol, If I don't keep him on a short lead he will pull a rat or something out of the bushes, he is a real devil hehe see you in a bit |
he he He didn't find no rats But he did find a pile of Fox poo He decided to have a roll in it I brought him in stinking June has him in the bath at the moment, with some surgical gloves on little devil has stunk the house out he will be down in a bit shaking the water off and rubbing against the sofa for a dry off will get some pics and put them on my album |
I am trying to write a story here But Alfie is determined to get me off of the computer Do you ever feel like you are losing a battle |
After a few days he settled down at home So I invited my Daughter and Grandson around to meet him he was a bad boy He didn't like Howie and we had to hold him down in his harness, he was so angry that he bit my hand So Marie had to leave and take Howie home This was my first real dissapointmet with him not to be beaten I took him to my Daughters house this time he was pretty good although if any of us picked up Howie he started jumping and snapping |
It was time to introduce him to our twin Grandaughters (see my album Katie and Alfie) same problem couldn't pick kids up but he was ok with them after lots of socialising he now loves the kids although he still doesn't like us picking them up Our son picked his daughter up one day and Alfie was jumping and snapping to get sophie from him, John just pushed his leg out to get him away and he went mad and bit Johns ankles in a frenzy Now we know that he has been kicked about in the past |
We have taken some holidays in the uk recently on van sites (Trailers) which allow dogs, Alfie is brilliant with the kids now But ! God forbid another dog comes near |
On one holiday two years ago we were in North Wales We decided to take Alfie on the beach There were other dogs on the beach and he just went mad, foaming at the mouth again He jumped up and bit my inner thigh to get me out of the way I ended up holding him in a twist in his harness in the air with him snapping at my arms, eventually he calmed down and looked at me all sad as if to say sorry He just does not like other dogs |
Last summer we took Alfie with us on another caravan holiday in Somerset The site had a designated dog walk, which was a track alongside a brook covered in nettles leading up to a lake A real nice pleasurable walk if you don't have a nutter on a lead That was tongue in cheek, I love him, he is a wild dog As we walked him he was sniffing in the nettles pulling at the lead no barking just quiet and sniffing all of a sudden he darted into the nettles whereupon a loud shreeking started we dragged him out on the end of his lead he had a rat nearly as big as him in his mouth he had shaken it to death by the neck |
he loves the woods, but I can't let him off the lead or he goes walkabout To date he has caught another rat and a pidgeon on his own I cannot stop him, he just go's |
Our next door neighbour has bought two chihauhas (hope spelling is right) Alfie has worn a groove along the fence line, barking and foaming and snapping Carol next door said, don't worry they will get used to each other her dogs stand at the fence yapping at him which sends him mad, all the foaming at the mouth again I warned her to not let them close Alfie has already half eaten through a 2" x2" post to get the fence down Her friend arrived the other day with five chihauhas so there were seven of them yapping at him and winding him up Alfie was going ballistic Her friend told me that Alfie is mad I replied "yes I know" I explained that he thought they were rats They now keep their dogs away from the fence and all is calm God forbid he gets through and gets hold of one of them |
I must add that on the other side of our garden our neighbour keeps Sheeba an Alsation in a kennel in the garden Sheeba is a lovely dog Alfie has got through the fence and plays with her He bit her once on the rump and she picked him up and threw him He met his match Now he loves Sheeba |
Alfie is definately a working dog as they were bred to be He can be hard work, but that is half the fun Who wants a boring dog ? Hope you enjoyed the tale I will update as Alfies adventures continue Love G |
One thing is for sure He is going to live a natural life No one is putting my dog down Oh! I forgot to mention The previous owners had his tail docked and his nuts removed It is little wonder that he has an attitude I would be angry if someone did that to me More pics to follow |
What a fascinating story. I am so sorry about your baby Paddy. You are wonderful to rescue these babies and give them good homes and a good life! I look forward to more Alfie tales! :) |
