| ![]() Okay.... so I have been working so hard to house train Gus (who is fixed). At first we did pee pads because we were living downtown and he became really distressed with all of the buses and loud traffic whenever we went outside. That did not work that well... he never really got the idea of them... so we kind of just dealt with it and cleaned up after him. When Gus was 4 months old, we moved into an apartment with a lawn. He has become great at going outside, however, he is terrible about peeing under the kitchen table. I cannot tell you how often I take him outside...its got to be every hour and sometimes and he pees on every tree, leaf and pole within a 2 block radius. And I'm not talking trickle... He actually pees. My problem is that even after all of this... he still pees in the house, right underneath the kitchen table. I have bought sprays and I try to keep him out, but I just don't know what to do. He is ruining the kitchen table and my sanity. Any ideas/suggestions? |

| ![]() Welcome to YT! Can you put a pad or two under the table where he's peeing?

| ![]() Welcome aboard! I think it might be a good idea for you to get a urine sample and drop it off at your vet's. He may have a kidney or bladder infection. Otherwise, can you keep him on a lead for a few weeks so he is right with you all the time? That way he can't go hide under the table to pee and if he starts to go somewhere else you can stop him and take him outside. |

| ![]() Sounds like he is marking more than peeing. Is he neutered?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() That's what I was thinking, and also remember it's important to clean up the accidents with an enzyme cleaner such as Natures Miracle. Other cleaners will leave behind the protein, and if a dog can smell this protein, he will return to the spot, it's wired in behavior, and very difficult to stop them from wanting to return to the spot. So you must get all the protein out with an enzyme cleaner.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | ![]() have you tried putting something in the spot that he pees that blocks his access to it? also make sure you clean it really well with something like nature's miracle to get rid of any evidence of pee

| ![]() Yes, he is neutered. He was neutered at 11 weeks. I have been using nature's miracle to clean up, but I think I am going to try putting something under the table to block him from getting under there. It is just so strange. He does not have problems any where else in the house... just that table. |

Would he be marking at 4 months old? I have had a lot of male dogs and never had a marking problem with the ones that were neutered early. | |
