Welcome aboard!
I think it might be a good idea for you to get a urine sample and drop it off at your vet's. He may have a kidney or bladder infection. Otherwise, can you keep him on a lead for a few weeks so he is right with you all the time? That way he can't go hide under the table to pee and if he starts to go somewhere else you can stop him and take him outside.
