Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Biewer Weight? Im just curious, i havent studied the Biewer weight standard, but does anyone know? I weighed Thom today, me on the scale , then with him, and he weighs somewhere between 8 & 9 lbs (He was 9lbs exactly the first 5 times i did it, but then he was 8 the last time, so i dunno!). Is he a good size for a biewer?

| same size as a standard colored yorkie. They should be 7lbs and under by standard but of course there are bigger ones too

| Biewers are up to 7 lbs. There are quite a few of them I've seen in the 8 and 9 lb range. Mine is 10 mos and 2 lbs. Yours is probably about done growing. Mine had her growth spurt from 5 1/2 -7 mos, she went from 1 1/2 lbs to 2 to 2 1/2(she fluctuates between those 2 weighs). Would love to see pictures |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | The best way to explain this is if you are 5' tall the weight tables say 100-130. Some people weigh more, some people weigh less. So some Biewers will be on the small size and some larger. I have a teapot yorkie--she weighs 12 pounds--she is still a yorkie. Just over standard. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I wouldn't call it a breed club...it's a registry. The Biewer Yorkie association is owned by the American Canine Registry. BYA also registers all generations of splitters. In terms of Thom's size for showing purposes or breeding...he's too big. None of the show venues use that standard listed by the group above.
