Laci's pee pee promblem? I posted this in the training section and didnt get a response so I am putting this here to see if anyone else has ever had this problem!! Laci was doing great!!! Never an accident using pee pee pads, I had my rugs cleaned the other day and now she is peeing where ever shen wants, its weird!! She was JUST at the vets so no sickness or problems I was thinking maybe the rug cleaner they used made her loose her scent to the pee pads because it is pretty strong or she is just being naughty ( not my Laci), Please if anyone has any suggestions let me know... do you think if I got that attracting urines stuff it may help.. Im at my wits end now because she just pees where ever she wants!!

Oh man! That stinks. It must have been something in the cleaner that's attracting her. Maybe you can try confining her to one area of the house with the wee-wee pads again for a couple of days..kind of like starting over (kitchen with baby gates?) until she's used to them again? Good Luck.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I don't think the problem is the cleaner masks the urine odor...liquid has been provided to the old urine stains "refreshing" it. Many times people themselves notice the smell of urine after having thier carpets cleaned. If she is "going everywhere"...I would restrict her access.

No, I think you mis understood, I dont smell urine at all in my carpets I meant the urine scented wee wee pads... I kept them in the same spot and she has been using that area since she came here I just dont get it... I guess Ill have to keep her in the kitchen or something which I dont really want to do!! My rugs never smelled like urine I just had them cleaned for spring cleaning!!

I think vinegar neutralizes odors that dogs can smell but we can not? Maybe pup-pup is attracted to rug cleaner they used. If there was any type of ammonia based chemical in the cleaner/disinfectant in the product they used - that might explain it. To dogs ammonia = urine = pee here please. Maybe try a mix of 2 parts vinegar and 1 part water in a misting spray bottle and lightly mist your carpets. They also sell some neutralizing sprays in pet stores too.
