| Well, I picked Jackson up when he was 9 weeks old on December 13th, 2008. I couldn't wait! It was about 10am when I arrived and there were two puppies left and I had to "decide" between the two. What a tough decision that was, lol. I wanted to take them both but there was someone coming at the same time as me to get the other pup. I held the first pup and he seemed scared to death, clinging on me, his little nails dug into my shirt... then I picked up the other pup (Jackson) and he seemed a lot more content in my arms. So... he kinda picked me. I just knew it right then and there. We got into the car and I wrapped him up in the warm blanket I got for him and he was really scared at first, of course. I was holding him at first and then he got car sick and threw up all over the place! lol. After fifteen minutes of driving or so, he actually began to play a bit and chill out. He was so sweet. When we got to the house, we introduced him to my dad's dog, Lily. And he was LOVING seeing another dog! I think it made him more comfortable because he was probably missing his littermates. He started jumping around and being all playful. He ate a little bit of food that I watered down kibble for him. The first day went perfect! He was everything I could've asked for, lol This was the first day I brought him home: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...t-my-baby.html

Senior Yorkie Talker | I got apple about three weeks ago. She was shipped from mo. I remember the weeks before she arrived I was anxious and could not wait for her arrival. Then the night before I remember I was told she would arrive at 12:15 so I took the day off when I got to the airport found out that she would not be here til 12:45, then they changed it because of the weather until 130-145 and finally at 200 she arrived. the time I was waiting in the car with my husband for her plane to arrive so many things ran through my head. Like what if I didnt like her, what if i found her too big, or worse what if i found her ugly lol well I tell you once I saw the crate I rushed and open it up not knowing what to expect and when I did I found the most tiniest, cutest, adorable scared little yorkie ever. My eyes watered up thinking of all the horrible things I thought of before she arrived. Since my face was the first one she saw and I held her before going out to the car where my family was waiting I am the one she is most attached to and that makes me happy. I love apple so much. I have had other pets(male yorkie milo and maltese male skyler) but, the love I have for apple could not compare to the love I had in the past for my other pets. I think that one reason would be because I am mature and I am in a place in my life where I am responsible and more able to dedicate the time, love and energy that is needed to own a pet. Not to mention she is hard to resist. Thanks to her I may be getting another yorkie in three weeks from someone I met at the vet about a week ago. Her yorkie had 4 puppies and she is giving away three. she saw apple and offered me one at no cost which of course I said yes to now I cant wait until I get him only there are no scarry thoughts running through my mind this time

| I went to go visit my husbands god mother.. somthing I loved to do because she has 5 yorkies and is such a great lady. When we arrived my husband informed he had a surprise for me????? I walked in and his god mother was holding the cutest puppy I'd ever seen My husband knew I wanted a dog so he and his god mother went on their search for my x-mas present...awww I'm tearing up just remembering. I was so happy on the drive home I held him the whole time, he ended up peeing in me but that didn't dim my excitment

| Mine was kind of impulsive, I admit. I figured I could raise 4 children and they are fine I could handle a little puppy. Thankfully for me it has been nothing but pure pleasure for our family. It brings tears to my eyes how my baby Coco, picked me I didn't pick him. I originally wanted a girl and when I walked in this cute little puppy was going crazy wanting to play. Well he was a boy so I kind of walked away but I couldn't keep my mind off of him. Something told me he was the right fit for our family. I think it was my dad that brought us together. You see he passed away in July and left me a very small insurance policy and being very upset about his death I didn't want his "death" money I couldn't even spend it at all. I decided to get a puppy for the kids from grandpa with that money. So when this little guy just kept on being persistant I knew he was the one. When I picked him up he was so calm and loving. I feel grandpa gave this love from him to the kids. Coco is very special to us.

| I flew to TN. to pick up Zada from a breeder who shows Yorkies. On the flight back, I took her out of her carrier, put her on my lap with her blanket over her. We bonded on the flight back. I got Azrael from the same breeder (Azrael and Zada are 1st cousins). but I paid round trip for another gal to bring Azrael out to me. I picked them up at the Santa Barbara airport, but couldn't hold Azrael since I was driving, till we got home. It was getting late, so I didn't get to spend much time with her till the next day. I drove over to Bakersfield to get Razael from a breeder who is also on YT, but not often. When we got back home it was bed time. We put Razael in the expen attached to the wire crate, cover over the crate, thick bedding, chew toys, pee pad & water dish. She just looked at us and never cried at all all during the night. She just seems to "know" what's expected.

| i picked up miss buffey over the christmas holiday one year. it was december 26th and let me tell you, i could not wait for that day to come!!!! i went to her breeder's house and sat and chatted with tracey and her mom for over an hour. i ended up being late for my dad's birthday dinner because i lost track of time. i fell in love with her the second we got into the car and i was holding her. she was understandably scared and was shaking and my maternal instinct to make her feel safe kicked in. after a couple of minutes she just snuggled in and took a nap. she slept with me that night (and had a few potty accidents in the bed lol) and it has been true love ever since miss buffey was my first yorkie and will always be my little baby girl

| I've always wanted a Yorkie, I think they're so cute and perfect for my lifestyle. They don't shed! My ex got me a Yorkie a long time ago from Petland. She turned out to have Distemper which was very heartbreaking. I cried over her for weeks even though I only had her for a week. He got her for me thinking it would "fix" our failing relationship but it only made it worse. A year later I have a new boyfriend. I always played with our friend's Yorkie and he knew I wanted one. He's been searching classifieds and petfinder for a while looking for the perfect Yorkie. He stumbled upon one very close to us and he asked me to go shopping with him. It was Black Friday, I thought he was insane. So we drove out to D.C., parked and walked around. Then I saw a lady standing around the corner with a Yorkie on a leash. I thought he was so cute, timid, but very cute. Then my boyfriend walked up to her and introduced himself as well as me. It really didn't hit me until we got into the car that he had just gotten me a puppy. We spoke to the lady, she's a student at a university who just doesn't have time for a puppy but says he's well behaved. We left to go to the car then I went back to ask her a question and she was balling. I would be too if I were in her shoes. It was such an awkward moment, I just told her we'll email her once he gets settled and walked back to my car. He cried for nearly 15 minutes in the car, it's like he knew he was being taken away. We went to the pet store to get a few things then went home and he just fell asleep on my lap. He was about 3 months old when I got him. He just turned 8 months today. We had a rough first couple months with him and still have slip-ups every now and then but I wouldn't trade him for the world. |

| The first day you got you got your yorkie It was Sunday, and I hadn't planned anything for the day. My wife, Suzette, had just begun to recover from a months-long bout with depression/panic/anxiety disorder, and her therapist had suggested getting a puppy. Apparently Suzette had been researching Websites looking for Yorkies, as she was interested in dog who didn't shed(she's a METICULOUS housekeeper!). So, she persuaded me to take a short ride (60 miles!) to the breeders' place "just to look at the puppies; no pressure to buy one!". Of course, the minute I saw them I couldn't resist them, and one just stole my heart right there. She had been named "Annie", but Suzette decided she wanted to re-name her. So, we placed her puppy crate in the back seat, secured it, and placed our new "Graysee" in it for the hour-long trip back home. Well, we got about 5 miles, and Graysee was just crying her head off, so I stopped, picked her up and held her in one hand, against my chest, all the rest of the way home. While I drove with her next to me, we obviously bonded, and she is now such a sweet, well-trained and dispositioned little dog. She has kept me constant company now during Suzette's latest bout with depression, lasting over nine months now. If it weren't for Graysee, my days would be very empty, indeed. She is such a joy. I recently posted a MotionBox video of her after a bath; she's very funny! |

| This past fall I had started thinking about having a little dog to love and spoil. So, for whatever reason, I started looking on the internet. I believe it was Kiiji, or something like that. Well, the more I looked at yorkie pics, the more I knew that I wanted one. I had also already decided that I wanted a girl, mainly because my family had always owned male dogs. Anyway, I happened upon the name and address of a breeder that wasn't far from me. So, I wrote her an e-mail. She contacted me early the next morning by phone informing me that she had a litter of 2 that was 2 weeks old; 1 male and 1 female. Well, my daughter and I went over and visited; saw both mom and babies and was impressed over the dog's kennel. Actually it's a separate house with climate control and an outdoor run attached. After answering a ton of questions, I picked out my little girl, named her and visited weekly taking pics. They grow and change so much so quickly. While waiting for her to be ready to leave the breeder's; I purchased all the basics (and then some. hehe) and had everything ready by the time she came home. Finally, on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 my daughter and I went to go and pick her up. I was so excited I could barely wait until the paperwork and instructions were over in order to leave with my new baby. Molly was 10 weeks old and the most adorable thing ever. Since then, she has become my life in the 5 months that I have had her. I have also gone back with Molly to visit the breeder. It's nice to know that she's become a friend as well.

| Great thread. Aww. Memories... I pick up my puppy at the breeder and came back home surprising my boyfriend with the new puppy. We Spend the day playing with her and trying to pick a name ( took a week to decide on Lucy). She was the best girl ever as she had only 2-3 accident in the first week and that's it. Hyper little girl, I remember my boyfriend use to tell me: Isn't she great when she's asleep!! |
