So, she persuaded me to take a short ride (60 miles!) to the breeders' place "just to look at the puppies; no pressure to buy one!". Of course, the minute I saw them I couldn't resist them, and one just stole my heart right there. She had been named "Annie", but Suzette decided she wanted to re-name her. So, we placed her puppy crate in the back seat, secured it, and placed our new "Graysee" in it for the hour-long trip back home. Well, we got about 5 miles, and Graysee was just crying her head off, so I stopped, picked her up and held her in one hand, against my chest, all the rest of the way home. While I drove with her next to me, we obviously bonded, and she is now such a sweet, well-trained and dispositioned little dog. She has kept me constant company now during Suzette's latest bout with depression, lasting over nine months now. If it weren't for Graysee, my days would be very empty, indeed. She is such a joy.
