| Male or Female? This is going to sound crazy I know, but I have been looking for a baby for a while now and as of today I think I have finally chosen a breeder and now can't decide if I want a boy or a girl!! How did you decide? I thought I wanted a lil girl because there's so many cute things on the market for them and to be perfectly honest with you, I love pink, lol. However, have been told over and over again that the males are much more loving and affectionate than the females. I have heard that the boys will follow you around all the time and that the girls come around on their terms, when they want to be petted, etc. Is this true? I also have 2 other female dogs in the house, (neither which are yorkies), so would it be easier if I got a male? |

Axl is every ones boy, he loves to get attention from anyone, He our Boo BOO baby cause he is so cuddly and alway's wants a hugging or kiss! He does have a soft spot for my oldest son Mason or if my Mom is around he is her boy. For a while our girl, Yumi Yasha, was picky about her loving, you know it had to be on her terms, but lately she has taken a shining to my husband and she will give him loving 24/7 but for the rest of us it's still on her terms! Good luck on getting your Yorkie!

| It's really hard to generalize, but my experience has been that female Yorkies are daddy's girls and the boys go for their mamas. In my case, Sadie does cozy up to any male visitor, while Joey only has eyes for me. Sadie was more aloof as a puppy when it came to cuddling, but she has become more affectionate now that she is a year old. Joey is a lap baby. Again, that could just depend on the dog.

| Take a seat and let them crawl all over you. By the time they're done you'll know.... I prefer girls though.... |

| Remy is an 8 month old boy, and I am very happy we got a boy. He is clearly attached to me (my shadow, and waits by the door when I run out) however he pretty much goes to anyone as long as I am around. He spends lots of time giving his daddy kisses, and when we are walking he is happy approaching just about anyone. I definitely wanted a male -- but the one thing we knew we did not want was an "alpha" male... In describing his personality I would say he can be "timid" in unfamiliar environments - but once he is comfortable and warms up - he is extremely active and playful. As a puppy- when we picked him out - he was not the first one in the litter to jump into your arms, but he was always watching you and would come over to you eventually. His "patience" appealed to us and told me we were not getting the "crazy" or "hyper" one. Remy does not hump at all (which is a dominance issue) has not been neutered (and likely will not be because of my preference, not because we intend to breed him). While he can be headstrong, he will generally defer to us. Good luck with you choice! |

| Like others have said....I'd just go and visit with the babies.......pick which one you like the most!!! I have 2 girls right now.... If and when I get another yorkie I'll be getting a little boy!!! I'd choose based on their personality....instead of their sex....because either sex can be overly affectionate...or independant.....it all depends on the yorkie!!

| My vote is for the boy!! I have two boys whom I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with!!! I have a crazy hyper boy and a super mellow, laid-back LOVER!!!! I adore the boys- I always say my next will be a girl but I always fall in love with the boys.

| I say boy! But I'm biased. Actually, I grew up with female dogs my whole life, but I've never had a better companion than my little boy.

Yorkie Yakker | I think it all depends on the pup, not the gender. I have a male yorkie and I wish he followed me around more, but he is independant. My sisters female chihuahua follows us around and constantly wants our love and attention.

| I honestly don't think it matters. Girls are nice (and so much easier to shop for), but so are boys. Right now I have two boys, but that's what the cards had in store for me and I love them more than anything. If I had girls, I'd feel the same way. I personally don't care what gender they are. I would just go with an open mind and take which ever one picks you. You'll know it's the one, when you see it, no matter whether it's a boy or a girl.
