| charlie the chicken my mom-in-law got a baby chick. She brought it inside the house. The chick was chirping like crazy. Charlie is afraid of the chick. He is afraid to even go near it. I feel bad for him he is going to be sleeping in the living room with the baby chick tonight. Such a silly boy. I am going to ask her if charlie can play with the baby chick. He needs a friend. May be they can become friends if he doesn't try to eat or bite the baby chick. |

| I would not advise letting Charlie play with him/her. I hatched some chicks in the house once because I wanted them to imprint on me i.e. I would be their mother. Well it worked and the chicks were happy and I was happy and Chattie was NOT happy. I thought I had the chicks safely tucked away in on the counter in a box tall enough that they couldn't flutter out. Well, I was wrong and when I went to check on the commotion I found Chattie and Chickie in the chair - Chattie's chickie "squeaky toy" was no longer squeaking. It broke my heart, but I understood then and now that Yorkies are hunters and they will kill. |

| Good to always keep in mind... as sweet and as human like as our babies are... they are still dogs with instincts. One time I found a little green leaper frog. I thought my boys would get a kick out of it, playing with it. Well my Dexter who is soooo sweet and cute and little, whom I swore would never hurt a fly, killed it in .2 seconds! I was horrified. Had to remember, he's a dog!

| Yes .... Yorkies are cautious and seem to be afraid sometimes of new things but he'll get used to it and instinct will kick in and it might not end the way you want it to Better safe than sorry small animals shouldn't be where a yorkie might get to them
