| Did you have your puppy shipped?? Hi everyone! As you know, we have been looking for a sister for Zeus. My husband prefers to adopt a little girl who needs a home, rather than get a puppy, as they find homes easier. Anyways, I found one in Utah and that is a long, long drive from NC. So, we could have her shipped, which I really don't want to do. Can any of you offer me advice or tell me about your experience with shipping? Thanks so much!

| I had Tucker shipped, and I had no problems. The breeder made sure to put lots of labels all over his crate that said DO NOT TOUCH. This was important because our Yorkies are so cute that the airline staff will often take them out & play with them, and you really don't want a bunch of strangers handling your dog. Anyway, a lot of people disagree with shipping, and I understand their points - but personally I had no problems...

| I had Coco shipped and it was a 6 hour flight. She was about 9 or 10 weeks old and tiny. She was barely a pound. She did great. They took real good care of her there. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

| I had Daisy shipped from Miami to New Jersey via Continental. She was 12 weeks old and about 1 1/2 pounds. Her crate was wrapped in so much bright yellow tape it looked like a crime scene. She was off the plane and in my arms within 10 -15 minutes. She came through with flying colors and I would definitely do it again.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Where does the pup ride during shipping? I know when we fly, we get to put Eddie under the seat. In fact, America West doesn't even allow pets shipped in the regular luggage area.

| It's kind of exciting to watch the plane your puppy is on arrive. You get all excited and the first friendly face they get to see is their mommies. But don't do what I did if you decide to get her shipped and wait at the airport for 5 HOURS before the flight arrives. Because you WILL go crazy..haha

| i live in FL and maisy came down on an airplane from iowa!! no problems whatsoever except her flight was a little late and we had to be sure to give her nutracal as soon as we picked her up, since we can't be sure she ate enough on the plane and didn't want her to get hypoglocemia!! but everything else was fine |

| Thank you all for sharing your experiences. The only problem I'm having is that the puppy would not be coming from a breeder. The person trying to find a home for her, received her as a gift and doesn't have the time to take care of her. I really want to rescue this little girl, but am afraid that the owner won't take the precautions needed to make sure that she gets here safely and in good health. I found her on puppyfind.com and emailed the owner. What do you guys think? Here is the listing..... http://www.puppyfind.com/view_listin...b87ca5dc79d60d

I know, that is what I am worried about. I talked to the owner over email and he said that it would be about $550 to ship. Does that seem right?

| Just don't send anything until you have a flight confirmation. Or you can do money orders through the post office and insure it so you can track it and put a stop to it. Keep all the receipts and all conversations over email. Just in case..But I hope you get her.

Thanks for the advice, I will do just that. I am going to call tonight and see what I think. If we decide not to, maybe there is someone here on YT from Utah that could give her a good home. She is just precious!
