| Another yorkie puppy? Advice? Hi everyone! Okay, we have Maci who will be 3yrs old this year. We love her to death, and she is such a spoiled girl!! We're thinking of possibly getting another yorkie puppy? Is that a good idea? We've heard that sometimes it can be difficult, for Maci in this case, because she's an "only child" and bringing another puppy into the house might cause behavior problems. Can anyone comment on this? We would really hate to upset Maci at all; however, I think she might enjoy having a playmate. Also, we're kind of undecided at this point wheter to get another female or to get a male this time. Is there really any pros or cons? Maci is spayed, and if we got another puppy they would get fixed as well. Any thoughts that all of you have would be great! Thanks!

Sydney was beyond spoiled!!! The first week, she was very interested in our new baby, Kia, but after the first week, she let us know she thought it was time to for the baby to go home. However, we observed that Sydney was no longer sad, when we left the house, so we knew, bringing the 2nd baby in was good. They did not become play-mates. Sydney became Kia's Mom. My girls are 10 and 13 now, and they are good buddies. My best advice is talk to a reputable breeder, and tell her what Maci is like and he/she can help you choose a puppy with a personality that will work with Maci. Good Luck! | |

| Boo had fun with Gracie Ruth for several days. Then I started getting the, "Ok Mom, I'm done playing with it, you can give it back now." look. She did torment him some, but he was very gentle and really did like to play with her. Now that she's 'older' lol (1 year) I find them snuggled up taking a nap together a lot. "I'm done with it now, give it back, ok"

| My Leo is almost three and we have a new baby girl arriving in May. I'm a little nervous about it too. A friend brought her puppy over the other weekend and Leo LOVED her!! He was very playful and gentle with her. I'm thinking that excitement will wear off after awhile and he'll get sick of her. I just hope they end up buds. I bet they will. Since our first ones are still fairly young, I'll bet they'll adadpt just fine. Good luck!! I would definitely go for it! |

| We did it about 6 weeks ago!!! We have a 3 1/2 year old yorkie and wanted to get him a friend for a long time. We bought another male, not really for any reason. At first Teddy (the older yorkie) was afraid of the puppy (Pippo). He would run away whenever the puppy came near him (it was kinda funny!). He would also stare from far away and peek around the corner when Pippo was playing! It took about two weeks I would say for Teddy to get over it! They now are becoming best pals! Teddy is still a bit shy if you force them together, so we dont. But they are playing tug of war...and have physical "battles" daily. It is so cute. I have even caught them laying in the same doggie bed now! It is so much fun. There is alot of love in the family and it has just brought more!! I think it is a great idea!!! Good luck

| I would to it They adjust especially if you go about in the correct way. PS - I'd get a boy! Males and females always seem to get along better!

| I would but my bed is only a king size and between my wife, my cat and my yorkie i'd end up sleeping in the guest bedroom. As it is I only get about 7 inches of bed to sleep on now!!! |

YT 2000 Club Member | Prissy our precious poodle is seven years old and has always been the only furbaby....very spoiled. We decided 6 weeks ago to get Jasmine, yorkie, which is now 14 weeks old. At first it was difficult on Prissy, she was jealous and didn't want to share us, her toys, our grown children, the yard, the house.....you get the picture. However, watching them play now you would thing they have always been best buds. They love to play and play and play!

| WOW, 7" of bed to sleep on!! I'm so jealous!! We have a Queen size bed and between 3 Yorkies and a restless Hubby I'd be in heaven if I had that much space. As it is I often need a foot on the floor or my hand against the wall to keep from falling out. sigh... But I who would I throw out? None of 'em, it makes for cozy sleeping on cold Texan nights.

| Thanks everyone for you input! We'll be going to look at puppies today, and we'll see what happens. The breeder that we are going to is the same one that we got Maci from, so we already know that she is reputable. Stay tuned...

| My husband and I find ourselves, hugging the edge of the bed, because the Yorkies are all stretched out, horizontal in the middle! |

| aww....I can't wait to see if you bring home a baby!!!! How exciting...I know from our experience...that bringing home Tulip actaully made our Daizy a love bug! Before she was independant...slept by herself...NOW she's completely changed...probably driven by jealousy.... I don't care the reason or cause...I'm just thrilled with the result!!! And they are BEST FRIENDS!! They adore each other.. Even if you go thru a "rough" patch...hang tight.....They will be friends in no time! Keep us posted!!!

| I think they generally seem to adjust. We brought Maddie home when Bunny was 3 yrs old. It didn't take long before Bunny was mothering Maddie like crazy. They are so cute together! Best of luck searching for a new baby! |
