I still have not heard back from her besides from what she told me yesterday...I am still waiting as soon as I hear something I will let ya'll know.

Be careful here, she is playing to your emotions. There are so many scams out there now.

In this economy, stuff happens and people need to downgrade and possibly give up much loved pets to care for animals. Also in this economy, a lot of people don't have $700 lying around but you know what they say one mans junk is another mans treasure. Craigslist is a great way to reach a lot of people and its free. I don't think what she is doing is wrong. Her kids may want a Wii and she cannot afford it, so this is a way for her to get it and find homes for her babies. I hope those 2 babies get a great home and stay together. Most of us here would never trade our pups, but how do we know she didn't lose her house and needs to downgrade and can only get an apt that does not allow pets. This thread quickly jumped to BAD conclusions. I don't have kids and if I'd lose my house before I gave up my boys.... but that cannot be the case when a person has children.

Please don't judge when you don't know the story and don't have a right to. You never know someone until you walked a mile in their shoes.

She just emailed back this is what she said

"The male has been ours since he was a puppy. He came from a breeder in Quinlan. He is about 8 lbs. The female is his daughter. She is about 6 months old and weighs 6 lbs. They are both very sweet and loving dogs. I just don't have the time to give that they need."

Its probably best then that they go to a home that will love, appreciate and dote on them like they deserve! How in the world do you have a 6 month pup and THEN realize you don't have time. What could have changed in 6 months to take up so much of their time. I hate when people don't think LONG TERM when getting an animal. They are better off with a Wii Im sure!

The male is 3 years old. What?? Why on earth would she get another puppy. How could she just get rid of them. She's had the 3yr old since it was a baby. I think this is just a possession to her. Sickening!! I hope they get into a loving home where they are a part of the family to be loved and not disposable.

I agree with this posting. I understand where the negative responses are coming from. Everyone here on YT loves their babies and would most likely never consider doing this. However, to some they are just dogs not family members. Would it make us feel better if she stated that she needed money to feed her kids? I would assume so. It may be in the best interest for someone else to take and love these two. They deserve to be in a home that is going to love them. There may be other circumstances behind her wanting to rehome them, and after trying to sell them she decided to trade for something that she felt would make her kids happy. Bartering is becoming more popular with the economy so bad, and just because you or I would never consider bartering our babies doesn't give us the right to judge the actions of others. There is some reason that she is trying to rehome both of them and not just one of them. I think if anything we should be happy that she is not on Craigs list, telling us if they don't find a home soon they will be dropped off at the local shelter. She is making an effort to find them a home. If this add was in my area I would trade a Wii for them, no questions asked. What is really sad is that if I was to do this and then come on here and say that I traded a Wii for two Yorkies and was now looking for wonderful homes for them I would get the same negative responses for giving someone a Wii, that this woman is getting by asking to trade a Wii for her babies.
