| too friendly with strangers? hi there, i have a question. my 4month yorkie seems too friendly with strangers. when i take her out for a walk and someone walks by, she'll stop dead in her tracks, sit down and wait for the person to come over, and if someone does she just jumps around that person etc, and when they go away, she'll either sit and not move just looking at them, or she'll try to go after them. i feel kinda weird when my dog doesn't want to come over when shes told, and she wants to be with the strangers. how do i fix this? |

| My boys all tended to do that at 4 months old too....and now that they are older they are not as "friendly"......one of them is now 11 months old and he is just now not walking off with anyone... One of them I wish was still that friendly :-)

| you shouldnt want to fix it thats the way they should be a dog who doesnt like people will be impossible to handle when they are older or need to be treated if something wrong with them later in life also puppys are normally friendly unless they arent treated right to begin with

YT 1000 Club Member | This is Roxie and she's 2 years old. She wants to greet anyone she sees. The good thing is that she won't let anyone pick her up that doesn't know her. Unless they are in my house and sit down first, then she jumps into their laps. If the neighbor pulls up in her driveway she wants to run over there. I don't like that but it's better then charging people in aggression. |

| All 3 of mine are like this, it's just part of the happy little personalities. I laugh at Yogi, at the dog park sometimes he gets a little overwhelmed and will simply go sit on the nearest feet. Doesn't matter who's feet they are, he's going to sit on them. The person usually looks down and then around for this odd dogs owner. I'll come over laughing, saying, "Yogi, stranger danger, how many times do I have to tell you." They'll laugh and Yogi will look up at us, "But Momma, I was scared and didn't know where you were." He's such a trusting little soul.

| Milo does this all the time it's all about him LOL I am always saying if he were a kid he would be very dangerous he would talk to anyone. I let him say hello but when we are done I always have treats in the pocket to coax him away. |

| LOL!!! My little Lola does the same!! I cant take her for a full walk because she runs up to everyone wanting attention and if she doesnt get it, she will run and hop all over them. I no longer can wear shoes when we go for walks, they have to be sneakers or I wont be able to run with her. I am glad to hear that its a normal thing!!! She also gets excited when she sees another dog...she gets so excited that she pounces on them constantly. |
