| I have been let down, once again. People, make me furious. Ever since Prudence died, I've searched and searched for another yorkie, for another companion. I just can't afford to pay $700 for a fur baby. If I had the money, I would pay $3,000 for another furbaby. So I emailed this lady, about a yorkipoo ad, (that was posted like 10x on one site). Telling her how much I wanted to buy her female puppy. I emailed her at 4 times in one day. Then she Finally wrote back. She said to call her, I was a little suspicious because her grammar in emails was not great. So I called and talked to her, she said she would hold the puppy for me only, until I called her back at 3 o'clock. I called her back at 2:59. No answer. I just called her back now 4 o'clock. She answered, why didn't she call me back from earlier? She said, she has other people wanting her now, and I even think one, is from a puppymill. She got mad, that I couldn't pick the puppy up till tommorow. She said she would call me back later. All hope is lost for me right now. Oh Prudence, I miss you so much.

| So sorry about the loss of your Prudence. In time, the perfect new puppy will come along that will be just right for you. That woman is not one i'd consider buying any kind of animal from.

| Oh sweetie, my heart goes out to you. I think things happen for a reason and maybe this didn't work out because your supposed to find a different furbaby. I'm sure that special little guy or girl will come along soon and they will be so lucky to have you

| I am sorry, but no reputable breeder breeds mutts/mixes. Yorkiepoo IS mix. Have you tried local rescues or petfinder.com? Please keep looking for mixed breeds at shelters/rescues, but not breeders. Those, who breed and sell mutts, are so-called backyard breeders and it is not good idea to support them. They never do genetic testing, so if you buy from these breeders, you might spend lots of money on vet bills in the future. If you adopt from shelter, at least, you save a life, not support bad business. |

| because..... Breeding mixes contradicts the ethic code of reputable breeders. The term “responsible” is getting a lot of mileage these days. Almost every breeder claims to be “responsible.” The dictionary defines responsible as “trustworthy and dependable.” How dependable is a breeder who plays imaginative “what if?” games with his dogs and expects the public to pay for his experiments? How trustworthy is a breeder who deliberately misleads people about the value of a mutt? I think you can answer that question for yourself. Truly responsible breeders are honest and knowledgeable with a strict code of personal ethics... Would a responsible breeder deliberately cross .... dogs with completely different and potentially incompatible physical structures and temperaments? Would they deliberately mix any breeds? No, not when they know the results will be completely unpredictable and that there are already thousands of accidentally-bred mixed breed dogs in need of good homes. more: Buyer beware! Truth about "malti-poos" and other poo mixes!: Dogs Please note: I have NOTHING against crossbred dogs. What I am opposed to is the intentional breeding of crosses and selling them to the general public who may not be as educated to things like this for the SOLE purpose of making money more about: Poo-dogs & Designer Mutts |

| I think as long as the breeder is honest with the buyer that it is a cross - not a pure-bred - so basically a mutt - and that the puppies and parents get proper vet care and attention then I don't see anything wrong with it. That's just my opinion. Yes, I think people should be educated about what they are purchasing and the breeder should make sure they are educated on what they are purchasing. I don't see why a pure-bred is so much better than a mixed breed just because a group of people decided that it is an actual breed. If people didn't mix breeds in the past, we wouldn't have some of the amazing breeds that we have today. I'm not a breeder and I'm not looking to get into a debate here , it's just my personal opinion.

When My sister bred, she had her female checked out by her vet before each breeding, a lot of yorkie breeders don't even do that. Remember, just about every breed had to be bred with something else to get the purebred Last edited by phfgkl; 03-22-2009 at 02:21 PM. | |

| I am so sorry about the loss of your baby. Please don't buy from somewhere that you know nothing about, get references , see the parents ask if she does health testing. Don't rush into anything cause your upset over your baby, my heart goes out to you, please take some time. I wouldn't buy a mix either, no reputable breeder IMO breeds a mix. |
