Thanks for your comments. Its still just a beginning as far as I'm concerned. We NEED each other...all 3 of us. Actually the 3 of are starting a new beginning right now so I'm so very thankful to have them as my best friends and companions.

I think some people can handle a precious child and a precious animal together. All 3 of my kids grew up with dogs. They are all grown now and on their own but in all the years when my kids were just babies, i never had a little dog hurt by any of them. They were always supervised and when they got older they were taught to always be gentle with the pets. Now i have 4 yorkies and 4 grandkids....my grandkids are so gentle with animals also and well supervised. Its all according to the parents!

Vickie, you are a blessing for taking care of this little one! I love the name Harley...that was my dads name. I love the pic with the yorkie praying, that about the cutest thing i ever saw.

He doesn't even know he is any different!

One of the sheep dogs at the barn we used to board at when we lived in Florida had 3 legs also. She was hit by a MacK Truck and had to lose one!

I'll tell you one thing...she had puppies and didnt like anyone near them, one day I went to see them and when she saw me she chased me all ther way across that yard and I was RUNNING, lol. Momma don't play. lol

You are so right as breeders it is our responsibility to make sure our puppies are going to be going to loving safe environments not to the first call to get the $$. I love to tell people horror stories so they are really aware of the responsibility and the fact that they are taking home a BABY! And they need to be treated as such or bring them back. HOLLA! You have to sit down and teach people the proper way to take care of a delicate baby and that surely can not be done through the internet or a pet store where millions of animals are winding up in unsafe homes.

Can I have an AMEN!! to that!!

No he really doesnt know any different. And he can keep up with Angel with no problem at all and she's 2 pounds bigger and has 4 feet. LOL
Thats pretty funny about getting chased out of the yard away from her puppies. Such a funny mental image.

Im so glad you gave him such a wonderful home. and I agree about small children and small dogs. even thou we had small dogs and children at the same time. I would not would to sell a pup to someone with a small child. If I did I would have to see how the child did with the pup on many visits, but even with them being supervised accidents happen and small children can fall on pups and being so small it could kill it.

i'd like to comment on small children and small animals. Children can be taught at a early age to handle little animials the right way. However, a child who is left unsupervised with a small animal/is never ok. Children are impulsive and will act without thinking. They do not consider their behavior to the consquences . Children do not act the same when they are not supervised . AS soon as they are left alone , they are "going to behave a lot differently"
Of course ever parent will say "my child " knows how to behave . Or has been taught. The parent would be surprised to find out just how their kid really acts when the parent is not around .
SUPERVISION. Never leave a little dog alone with a small child. Some parents are not fully commited in doing so. It is too easy for accidents to occur . Small animals are the ones that are always going to be hurt. And it happens quickly.

Thank you for posting this. IMO, it was not offensive at all. Actually , in all the Yorkie books I've read it is reccomended that yorkies should not go to homes that have very young children in them.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I don't feel like anything special for taking him in. I feel special because he came into my life. The avatar smiling is my Harley. My husband is jealous of the attention my furkids get but thats just one of the reasons he's my soon-to-be-ex. These heartbeats at my feet have given me more joy than I ever thought I could have in my life. If someone doesn't want them in their life then they're not going to be in mine. Plain and simple.
I'm glad I posted Harley's story. If just one person learned something..then it was worth it.
