BANNED FOR NOT SENDING A GE GIFT! | Poor trevor!!!!!! OK, Trevor and I had a long talk about grooming. I got so many good tips, suggestions, ideas from Yorkie Talk, and we decided we had to give it a try. The first thing was to brush him and get the tangles/mats out. It hurt, so I used the idea about corn starch. I sprinkled some on him, on the mats, and I guess he must have got some on his nose.....so he shook his head and sneezed, corn starch went flying......then he sneezed again.....more corn starch. By this time I was a little panicked and thought I have to get this off of him. I figured that if I bathed him, the corn starch would turn to paste. So I took him outside with the blow dryer. It was set on low, but scared him to death. I think I'm gonna have to give up and take him to a groomer or wait awhile before we try this again. He's exhausted (so am I) |

| Great you terrorized your baby LOL. That sounds like a comedy act. I can just see him sneezing and shooting cornstarch all over. Don't worry it will get better...it has to I have 3 that just make me nuts so I know what you go through. I really do feel your pain. Just try a small part of him at a time. Like start with one leg. Then move to the other leg, and so on. I gets just as crazy around here too!! Good luck next time. He'll be fine. You know when I use my blow dryer on my hair they are in my bedroom and they are used to the noise now.

| A little trick I've learned and used is to take the matt and cut it straight across using thinning shears. Just take one cut straight across, then comb through the matt. The cut doesn't show but the matt comes out. |

| I'm just picturing the snowstorm going on. If anything, when you take him to the groomers he'll think it is a breeze compared to what he went thru! You meant well and he loves you for it.

| We've had similar disasters - and our attempts at grooming usually leave Lucy looking like she's been attacked by a blunt knife and fork - her hairstyle is very 'free-range', and she looks as if she's been knitted from odd hanks of wool by a five year old! So, I've booked her into the groomers again tomorrow - at least she'll be able to hold her head high with her new stylish 'do'.

| That is too funny...You sound like us! Mac HATES the groomers so we too have decided to "learn" how to do it ourselves..My poor baby! Our 1st attempt my DH ended up shaving him down, 2nd attempt was a little better, 3rd grooming session not real bad, but still not right..so now I am waiting for his hair to grow again and I will take him to a groomer let her shape him up correctly...Then we will try it all again!...
