BANNED FOR NOT SENDING A GE GIFT! | ![]() OK, Trevor and I had a long talk about grooming. I got so many good tips, suggestions, ideas from Yorkie Talk, and we decided we had to give it a try. The first thing was to brush him and get the tangles/mats out. It hurt, so I used the idea about corn starch. I sprinkled some on him, on the mats, and I guess he must have got some on his nose.....so he shook his head and sneezed, corn starch went flying......then he sneezed again.....more corn starch. By this time I was a little panicked and thought I have to get this off of him. I figured that if I bathed him, the corn starch would turn to paste. So I took him outside with the blow dryer. It was set on low, but scared him to death. I think I'm gonna have to give up and take him to a groomer or wait awhile before we try this again. He's exhausted (so am I) ![]() |

| ![]() A little trick I've learned and used is to take the matt and cut it straight across using thinning shears. Just take one cut straight across, then comb through the matt. The cut doesn't show but the matt comes out. |

| ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm just picturing the snowstorm going on. If anything, when you take him to the groomers he'll think it is a breeze compared to what he went thru! You meant well and he loves you for it. ![]()

| ![]() We've had similar disasters - and our attempts at grooming usually leave Lucy looking like she's been attacked by a blunt knife and fork - her hairstyle is very 'free-range', and she looks as if she's been knitted from odd hanks of wool by a five year old! So, I've booked her into the groomers again tomorrow - at least she'll be able to hold her head high with her new stylish 'do'.
