| Has anyone taken their puppy/dog to visit the elderly? I work in a retirement center. And although I work in indepdent living I will be taking Noelle to the skilled nursing & assisted living center. This will be her first visit and I am going to make it short. But she is lovable and I would love to share her love. Just wondering what your experiences have been. |

| What a great idea....I hope this works for you guys I have signed up one of mine for the obedience classes...We start in April...After we graduate, I hope to have them tested to become a form of therapy dogs...Where we can go to hospitals and nursing homes....But here, they prefer the dogs to have training first.... Donating YT 500 Club Member | My grandmother actually lives in a retirement home. We visit her every sunday and Bella sometimes comes along. The elderly LOVE her! ! They get so happy when they see her.. I try not to let her get too close but they like to just look at her mostly..

| I have taken my Tanj and Febi a couple of times to a nursing home and the residents just love them. A couple of them will give them rides in their wheel chairs. And it was nice to just talk with them, and hear about their lives. Be careful though because a lot of them like to hold the dogs and they tend to be kind of rough unintentionally. |

BANNED FOR NOT SENDING A GE GIFT! | Visiting I too work in long term care, Trevor goes to work with me most days...because of his small size he's perfect to sit on laps,or cuddle up on the bed. Since I have an office, when he gets tired he simply lays down in his portable bed for a nap. One thing to remember, make sure all vaccinations are up to date and that the facility has them on file. Even the best little fur-babies can get spooked and nip (thank God Trevor never has) You are right to do it slowly, sometimes I've seen dogs get spooked over wheelchairs and/or walkers. |
