| I had the worst scare this morning!!!!! This morning i was playing fetch with cookie and she did good so i praised her and gave her a cheerio. Well she had a loose tooth, one of the sharp ones and i guess it(the cheerio ) got mixed in with the tooth as it was coming out(im assuming when she tried to chew it, the tooth came out b/c i couldnt hear her crunching) and she swallowed both the tooth and the cheerio. She started choking and was not breathing!!!! Her face looked so scary to me, she was gagging!!!! Oh my god, i picked her up and squeezed her in the chest area and she cried, so i knew it was out!!! I never want to experience that again, i was literally shaking!!! Thank God it was me that witnessed this horrible experience and not one of the kids, they may not have even noticed....And that would have been ANOTHER SAD story!!!!! Just had to tell someone!!!! I feel a lot better...WHEW!!!! I cannot wait until she loses all those baby teeth, she is getting spayed on friday and i will be making sure that they pull all that are left!!!!

| Wow, scary. I've never heard of a dog choking on their tooth. I would've been so scared. Jackson seems to have swallowed all of his, lol, I haven't seen any baby teeth anywhere but they're so small so you never know.

| I can't understand how your furbaby got choked on a tooth. My Yorkie swallows treats almost whole (which scare me to death) that are lots bigger than puppy teeth. I try and hold the treats to make him chew them or break them into small pieces but sometimes he just gobbles them down. I glad she is ok John |

| For those of you that were wondering how she choked on the tooth, i believe that she was swallowing the tooth and the cheerio at the same time and that's what caused the obstruction. She has lost all her other teeth at the bottom and i only found 1, so im guessing she swallowed the others. I just started squeezing her right underneath her chest and she whimpered and i knew that it had come out. Then she spit out the tooth along with a little vomit. The tooth was one of those pointy ones(that really hurt when they bite you)and it was actually kinda big and shaped funny...also bloody.... Scary!!!!
