| Petsmart Hello to all, This past weekend my wife and i went to Petsmart in Crystal Lake, IL to look for some sales on toys and other stuff for our Sadie. Stopped by the grooming department and looking in the window saw a yorkie with a collar very tight around it's neck, almost to the point of choking, and 2 other dogs sitting and using the collar to rest their heads, Not one groomer thought anything of how these dogs were almost choking, but were talking! and leaving the tables!!!! Well like i always say, You pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Sorry, but this get me soooooo mad. The animals don't asked to be treated like this. Jeff |

| I agree- Layla used to go there to be groomed- the guilt still makes me cry. She would come back an emotional mess- she would insist I hold her for 3 days afterwards. I think she was upset by all the barking in the back room- we can't even walk into petsmart anymore because she violently shakes. I hate that i ever put her through that- but we do it at home now and she just LOVES being groomed- lots of treats |

| Mitzy used to be groomed there. I never had a problem. She had a GREAT caring groomer but she would always be so scared to go in so I learned to keep her "maintained" myself and take her in to a lady who let's her run around (opposed to a crate) while she's waiting to be groomed.

♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | I have taken Tobie only one time, they told me that he would be ready by 3. So at 3 I went there and I was looking through the window and could not believe my eyes... I saw Tobie on the table, whining, hollering and how horrible he was being treated by the man that was grooming him. I said a puppy cut do not shave him!! Well the man was shaving him when I got there ! I was so mad, I busted into the door yelling and saying bad words that I will not repeat! But I told them they better get Tobie off that table or else and that I was not going to pay for his hair cut, I thought they were going to call the cops on me but I just got kicked out of Petsmart and I am not allowed back in there, which is fine by me. But now Tobie hates going to the groomers and hates the sound of a shaver and freaks out whenever he hears them. I am so mad at myself for taking him there but he will never be going back there again!

| I don't know but it's not just Petsmart. I took my Coco to a "professional" groomer and they took off part of his ear. Check out my album. I won't take him ANYWHERE anymore. I'm tooo scared.

| It is very sad to hear groomer stories. While I know there are some good groomers out there, I have not found one yet and it is hard to find one that is gentle and good to every dog that they groom. I have seen groomer being rough with dogs and it shocks me not to mention I have my own groomer horror stories as well. Plus, they never listen to what you want. They just shave them down with a clipper. I guess I just gave up trying to find a good groomer after that and concentrate on building my own skills in grooming him

| I've said it before. I will not take my babies all over town to find a good groomer. They are not guinea pigs. It's ridiculous. There should be more regulations on this type of work. I have put them at risk and now my baby has a damaged ear forever!!

| You should complain to the manager of the store. Hopefully he is an animal lover and he will care... I had 2 bad experiences. Once the groomer ask me to come pick up Teddy ASAP because she say he was so scare of everyone he was peeing all over himself and ruining his fresh grooming!!? I rush over and found him all happy, so I ask to speak to the groomer who call me and I soon as she show up, Teddy lay down on his back, tail between leg!!! Never when back there. Also once I left Mika somewhere else asking the groomer to give her a little trim. I pick her up NAKED!!! Shaved up, they say she was to tangle!!! She did had some tangles (she as just spend one month with my mother as I was selling my condo) but honestly not that bad!!! They could of call me to ask!! So after that I when and got 2 clippers (one regular one small for face),scissors and a grooming table. No more worries... except for the dogs, that have to deal with there weird hair cut... But I am learning and getting better at it. |

| Bah, Petsmart NEVER trust your dog at petsmart, ugh, a few weeks ago there was a story in my area about some dumb...woman...who left a 2lb yorkie PUPPY next to a HUSKY and the husky KILLED IT. If it was my dog and that chick killed it...I would be in prison right now probably for great bodily injury. If some out there are still on the fence, google "Petsmart Yorkshire Died" and prepare to be amazed at how many YORKIES have died, God knows how many other dogs...Theyre not groomers, just random wankers off the street, probably trained to turn the water on and off and set loose. I used to take my Schanuzer to petsmart, no more. Id rather mess up doing it myself and have a bald spot on my pup than put his life in their hands. Guess it sounds pretty harsh, but after reading the news stories and watching them on TV...yeah I dont think Im being harsh enough.
