If you got your yorkie from a breeder how much did you pay? and what is overpaying cause thats something I don't want to do. And since I want a female would she really cost around 2,000 |
I paid $1300 for my girl and $800 for my boy. They are from different breeders. I think $2000 is a wee bit much...unless they have very good blood lines. Are they AKC? |
Please (!) get your yorkie from a breeder. It will save you SO MUCH $ in the long run. $2000 is somewhat normal for a female puppy. However, a $2000 dog is not often better than a $1400 dog. It is important that you find a breeder that keeps the dogs with him/her in the house (and that their house is clean) and one that offers support for life for you in the dog. Ask them lots of questions!! Look around on this website and search for questions to ask the breeder. |

I paid the equivalent of $450 USD for my female. I got her from a breeder. Prices for females with good bloodlines run up to about $600 USD here, but pet quality yorkies can be had for $150. When we get another one, I expect to go back to the same breeder. They own both parents, the dogs live in the house with them, and are very well socialized. My only concern is they let the pups go very young, but that's not uncommon here (we used to sell puppies at 6 weeks in America, too). We are very happy with our pup...she's healthy, personable, intelligent, and a barrel of fun! She also, so far, is conforming well to breed standard. |
I paid $600 for my male, he came with papers and shots from a good breeder in my area. A female asking price was around $900. |
We payed about $800 each for our girls. Our breeder normally sells female puppies for about $1400, but we got ours when they were a bit older. K |
I got Bogie from a small breeder (didn't know how to look for a 'good' one but I new the lady from crafting) for $400 with AKC papers. Woody I got for $600 with AKC from a pet store (I know, but I didn't know any better) I don't really understand what "good lines" are, but I have a 3 generation on both my boys if anyone can explain it to me. I have seen some locally advertised for upto $2500 F and $1500 M. |
I got my male for $700 and I am getting a female from some where else for $650... |
How much did you pay I paid for Jack $700. and Bella, $1,000. They are worth All of it. Both different breeders. Cheryl:animal-pa:animal-pa |

I got my male for $260 from a really good breeder in a small town in Oklahoma. In Oklahoma prices usually range from $300-$600 with $600 being on the high end. Hearing $2000 shocks me! The breeder I bought from, her father is a vet (I found out later that my dad knows him) and he came with papers, a small bag of dog food, books... basically a whole puppy kit. So yea, I guess I got a really good deal. |
I got Piper from a breeder. AKC, Female, $1800. She's worth every penny! |
my female was $600. and her brother was $400. from a REP.. breeder that some of you know... My very first male back in 1976 was 150.00 from a show breeder because 1 of his testicles didnt' drop, well not when I bought him but 2 months later they did.. hahaha so I got a great deal on him.. my first one, of six over the years......Inow have 2 15 week old pups... gotta love this breed... |

She was $650 with papers from a good breeder. |
havine two pups at once. Hi, I honestly don't find it much harder if they are siblings. This is my second set of sister/brother and they get along great. Neither seems to try being the alph, so that's good. I am the Alpha and I think they already know that. I got the girl first and 7 wks later her brother was still available so I figured what the heck, I've done this before, no biggie. They get along great and play like crazy. Only down side is I have to buy lots more wee pads...lol Both are doing great with the pads thou. She was really attached to me and now not so much because she has him to play and sleep with. they are so cute when they cuddle and tongue kiss... Just Love Them.. If you have the time and patience, go for it. You won't be sorry. IF you already have one I would take them to visit the new one to see how they do together. I've read boy/boy or girl/girl. I like one of each!!.. Good luck and thanks for asking bout my babies.. PIXI & SPIKE..:aimeeyork Quote:

$2000 seems like a lot...I live in Southern California where toy breeds usually sell for quite a bit, but I usually see female yorkies for around $1200-$1800. I'm paying $1500 for mine from a breeder. She's AKC. The same breeder is charging $1300 for the males. |
I paid 700 for Samson with no papers and 800 for Harley with papers (from a different breeder). |
