| Wow! Great job to you and the cat! I know little about snakes - do they come in pairs usually? Is there anyway to know if they are living near you? Are copperheads ground snakes or do they also climb trees?

| Copperheads are a poisonous ground snake. They are pretty common around here. I don't think they travel in pairs but I imagine sometimes you could come across a breeding pair. Once we found a pair of water moccasins hidden in the grass by our pond. When we first moved here we saw lots of snakes but we don't see that many now. The cats are good about killing the baby snakes. |

I once read a news article about a man who killed a snake and cut it's head off. The snake's head later appeared inside of a dresser/drawer in the man's house and bit him when he opened it

| Darn snakes, I wrote a few weeks ago about my Scooter and his encounter with a black snake. I hate the things but they go with the territory. Lucky you had momma cat. Good girl.
