So mad!!! Hard to trust groomers.... So im upset right now!! Little Bella went to go get her hair groomed and they just called me saying they couldnt cut her because they accidently "knicked" her and cut her a little while they were trying to groom her and they SENT her to the animal hospital for STICHES!! would you call that a knick? My boyfriend is going to pick her up now!! Im so upset! what should i do |
Thats terrible. Poor baby. I don't know what I would do. Keep us posted on how she is. |
thank you! im just so mad.... she will probably never want to go to the groomer again. I feel like crying:( |
I would definitely go to the vet hospital and go back to the groomers! I understand that mistakes are made but how can a nick get stitches? I personally groom mine at home. I am afraid of just that happening. |
I certainly hope at the VERY LEAST they intend to pay for her vet bills! I would be po'd beyond belief. I'm with you, that is more than just a "knick." |
I certainly hope she is going to be ok! Please keep us posted. |
I am very sorry this happened, this does sound like more than a nick. keep us posted on how she is doing. This happened to my Samson last week, I was so mad, they didn't even tell me, I didn't find out until hours after we came home and we noticed him excessively licking it. |
My boyfriend just got off the phone with them and she is trying to put the blame on us because she had "knots"... im so mad. I think they are downplaying it because they dont wanna freak us out.. i am anxious to see what this "knick" looks like. Now i know what it feels like to have children!! |
Wow-I would be really upset! Is this someone you use all of the time? Let us know how she is! :( |
I would be furious!!! How MANY stitches did she get? I hope she is doing well...give her a kiss from me. |
I would hope 1st that they cover the bill! Second, did they sound remorseful? I would be mortified. My hubby would have to pick her up, cuz I would be a mad woman! |
That is terrible. I would never take her back! let us know how she is doing! |
Well all i know is i cant call cause im shaking mad right now!! From what it sounds like they arent very remorsful and they are downplaying it.. I want to call and find out but i would probably start screaming.. Thanks everyone. its so nice to have a support system on here for things like this. |
Do NOT allow them to put blame on you. And do not pay a dime for the vet bill. In fact, i would then take your dog to your own vet and have them do a once over on him...and then charge them with that bill also!! Oh..and TAKE PICTURES !!!! You never know if you'll need them later for a small claims suit. |
I hope your little on is not to badly nicked! I certainly would be handing over the bill from the vet to them and never go back. Something like this happend to Buddy two years ago and he refused to ever go again so I had to learn to groom myself. The important thing is that your little girl is ok then handle the rest. Certainly make them pay the bill. |
I am so sorry this has happened. Our little poodle got knicked one time also. We haven't taken our little Jasmine to the groomers yet and I have to admit, I am a little afraid to take her. Please keep us informed about little Bella! |
Deep breaths.....Try to calm down before your baby gets home. She's gonna need mommy. She's gonna be freaked out!!!!! You poor thing!:ghug:Did you talk to the supervisor or owner? |
I know things happen and the dog can be wiggly and move a lot. I think its good they are getting her stitched up, but I'd be upset too. Thats your baby! I gave both my boys haircuts yesterday and the first time I ever did it I nicked my Dex.... I felt awful. I have learned though that when he gets wiggly to give him a min or five to calm down. Its stressful for the dog, you cannot force such a small baby to be still! I love my groomer, I just can no longer afford to get 2 dogs groomed every 3 months in this economy so I do the best I can on their heads and then I use clippers on their bodies. I do ok, not as good as a groomer, but acceptable. I get them professionally done maybe twice a year now and do the betweens myself. Im sure your baby is ok but Im so sorry that happened and Im sure it will be traumatizing for her for the next groom she has. You'll have to warn the new groomer that she had a traumatic experience and shes understandably going to be anxious so give her a few mins to calm down if she gets wiggly. |
So i just talked to my boyfriend she has a bandage wrapped around her entire neck!!! And yes the owner is the one that cut her. He is taking her to the vet to make sure everything is ok and the owner already said she would pay all the vet bills.. I feel so bad for my little Bella:( Shes probably wondering why mommy took her to such a horrible place. |
First of all...If your dog was so"matted",they should call and ask you wheather to take them down to short or leave them..don't just "wing" it, and hope for the best...Second, They should call you and ask you if they can go to their vet, what makes you think they are even bringing her anywhere??? This same thing happened to my girlfriend Sharpei Diesel on Friday,at Pet smart. He's short haired ,went in for nail trim and bath, came out with "cut up face, and feet. WTF,and she paid them?????....these "professionals" need to be accountable. If nothing else, this type of expierience is traumatizing for them,to say the least. Now ,wait until you try to take them to the next groomer, even if it's new, the're gonna put up a stink...not fair to new groomer either. Trust is earned. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this B.S. Let us know what the outcome is. I agree, take picture, and write every detail down now, while it's fresh in your head. Good Luck. |
wow those are good points.. i was thinking "why didnt they call BEFORE they took her to the vet??" i would have liked to know right away!!! |
Poor baby and Mom. I hope she is ok. I know accidents can happen but it dosen't sound like they are being as nice as they should about it! |

where did they nick her??? I can understand some nicks might happen in certain places but on the neck?? I feel so bad for you and Bella right now, again I know how this feels, the guilt is terrible...but it isn't your fault, you would have never left her there if you knew this would have happened! |
I agree!!! Don't you dare blame yourself for this! If you don't mind me asking....where is this place you took her? I was looking into grooming school for my daughter. There is no licensing. You don't even have to go to school for it. (At least here in AZ) How come they don't have to meet certain standards? |
Did they describe what happened or what they were doing to 'nick' her? Try to calm down before she gets home so she won't think you're upset with her. Poor baby. Give her lots of loving for us! |
You should look at my album and see what they did to my Coco's ear last week. It looks like something chewed on it. This is how I found him when I picked him up from the groomer, and he is the best one I have. He never moves he just licks you to death. I'm so sorry your baby has had this happen to her. It is so tramatizing for all of us. We certainly hope she is okay and we are sending a hug from Coco, Pebbles and Trixie. :ghug: |
SO the place is called Shauna's Spa and my boyfriend just called me very upset. The "knick" That supposedly happened looks like a knife wound 2 inches long around her neck. I cant believe they did this. I want to sue them.. but what do you sue for when they've already covered the vet bills? |
Oh my goodness, that poor little baby. What the heck were they doing over there. Holy smokes that's not "just a nic" |
