I would be so angry. Hopefully there is someone on here who can tell you what to sue them for...im sure there must be something other than the vets bill. Maybe trauma, stress, wages because you have to take the week off work to care for her? |
Nick? It looks like she had throat surgery. I know these little ones are wiggle worms but my goodness that is unbelievable. They have to carry liability insurance being in that kind of business. I hope it heals nicely. Poor baby, Hugs, |
I am so sorry that happened, I can see why you would be mad, I would be furious. I know the groomer next to me told me not to ever cut any hair on mine when they have knots and it's close to their skin, she said they have a little tool to get those knots out and it doesn't hurt the dog, so, am wondering why your groomer wouldn't have one of those? Please give little Bella a kiss. that poor baby.:( |

I know.. now im feeling so guilty.. Working 2 jobs i cant brush her as much as i like to and i missed a couple days of brushing her. She had a couple little mats that i couldnt get out with her comb. I just feel so bad, like its my fault. She just came home and shes acting like nothing happened shes very happy and jumpy, but i just feel like a horrible mom:( |
im also mad that they lied to me saying they nicked her.. i cant believe they downplayed her injury so much. She's chewing on a bone right now very happily:) |

I hope your little one heals up quick. Poor thing. That must have been a terrible experience. |

Groomers are and should be trained to getting or cutting out mats without hurting an animal. Looks like someone was in a rush and obliviously careless. |
DO NOT blame yourself. they should have been more careful! |
Holy cow! Where do they get the idea this is a nick?? Did they think you wouldn't look at it??? I would SO sue the hell out of them. Pain, stress, etc on both YOU and the puppy!!! Time off work...hell I'd make stuff up! I can't believe what I'm looking at here! That poor baby. That "spa" would be Curly Macs kick-ya-ass spa when I got through with them! |

Thanks guys!!! I never thought this kind of thing would happen to my poor bells... im sure she's traumatized now. Thanks again for all the support |
Oh my goodness! My jaw literally dropped when I saw the picture of this so called "nick". They are definitely downplaying it to an extreme!! Bless both of your hearts, sending you lots of love and hugs  I had one really bad experience with a groomer, and now I drive all the way to my small hometown in Kentucky so that my babies can be groomed by a friend I went to high school with. It's a five hour drive but I get to visit family and I feel so much better knowing my lil furbabies are in good hands. Whatever you do, don't blame yourself you couldn't have possibly known this would happen! Keep a close eye on her wound though. My Shiloh (the one I had a bad experience with groomers) had a really bad cut on his chest next to his leg, a little to the right of where Bella's is and every time he would jump up on the bed or couch it would open up. She might need a little more TLC for the next couple of days. Let us all know how she is doing! |
It might not hurt to call a lawyer...some places give free advice. You could ask them what you are able to sue for...just an idea! Glad to hear that it isn't effecting her... |
well i dont know if i wanna do all that now that i've calmed down a bit.. but im upset that she wasnt full of sorries as i would have been if i would have been in her shoes. Just beware.. i wouldnt go there- Shauna's Day Spa in Surprise AZ- :) |
 Poor Bella. That is so upsetting! How dare they call that a nick! It is a wound , under her neck, and it must hurt her. Did the vet give her anti biotics? When my Suzi is wiggly The groomer, has anther groomer help him by having Suzi lean on the groomer , she likes the closensss of a warm body, then calms down. That is all it takes! I hope the vet also gave your precious litte Bella pain meds too. There is no excuse for that kind of injury to ever occur at a groomer to any dog whatsoever under any circumstances. |
yes she has antibiotics.. she doesnt seem to be in pain. She actually seems pretty happy right now.. I thought she would be tired. i know though, that is the thing that makes me the most upset, that they called that a nick. At first i was expecting a small scratch but this is insane!! If anything comes out of all this i HOPE and PRAY that everyone looks into reputable groomers, breeders, vets, pet sitting, ANY one that takes care of your baby. Its so hard to find good care nowadays.. so when you find one thats good you should keep it:) I unfortunatly being somewhat of a new dog owner have not found the perfect vet or groomer but im trying. Anyone living in the glendale/surprise area of arizona that knows of anyone would be a great help as it is going to be hard for me to find someone that not only me but bella can trust. :) |
My goodness this looks horrible. Speaking from retired hairdresser it looks like a razor cut but surely they would not use a hair razor to groom a furbaby:eek: Keeping you and baby in my prayers so sorry this happened to her:( |
:eek:Poor furbaby. Im not trusting anyone with Tia , I'm learning to do it all myself so I don't have to leave her as I keep hearing these sort of stories. |
I definitely say DO NOT USE THAT GROOMER AGAIN!! I understand how you feel about your baby....and it certainly doesnt sound like a "knick" if stitches are involved!! Not just that, would a school send your child for stitches without contacting the parent? That sounds very strange to me! |
Do we know what type of tool made the cut? I can't imagine what they were using around the neck that would make that large a cut. I hope she is feeling better and doesn't develop a fear of grooming. I think it can be a fun experience for them in the right hands. |

I feel so bad for your baby. It's so hard to find a good groomer. I for one will not take my babies all over town looking for one. They are not guinea pigs. I don't want someone learning, to touch my babies. I don't know what I will do. It's so hard to look at my Coco now. His ear is all black now. I'm so sorry for you and your baby. What the hell were they trying to do, slit her throat. Don't blame yourself they should know what they are doing. Might I add it's not cheap either!!! How matted could she have been for goodness sake. It's always the dogs fault never theirs. They told me that my guy "got feisty" on the table. I say bull s**t. Not my Coco. You could call a lawyer and just ask if you have a case. I say take pictures, make sure they have a date on them. If they don't hold up todays newspaper in the picture. It won't hurt to ask. Poor little thing. I know it kills you when they are hurt, especially for no reason. It's ridiculous. |
Aww...Poor baby. . . . how is she feeling? Did they pay for the vet bills and meds? Well they BETTER! |

I'm a little late to see this post but I wanted to let you know that I'm so sorry this happened to you and your little one! I hope Bella heals quickly! :animal-pa |
OMG! Your poor baby!! This is exactly why we groom our own. It took us 5 hours yesterday to do Willow & Jake (haircuts, nails, baths, & blow dry) and I'll tell you, between Jake's super thick, fast growing hair and Willow acting (at 4 1/2 lbs.) like we are trying to kill her, everytime we go through it I tell my husband we should just get a groomer....but when I read and see stuff like this.... I will never trust them in the hands of a stranger...I don't care if it takes all day!!! So sorry....:( |
Oh my!!! I would be absolutely furious!! What in hell were they using that would make a gash like that? Looks like they forced what ever it was through the mat??!! I hope she heals well. I groom Lola myself for precisely this reason. She\'s not perfect...but she\'s safe. I\'m so sorry this happened. |
I sure hope they didn\'t expect for you to pay for her "so called" grooming |
