OMG I am just seeing this thread.. I feel for you and am glad your doing all you can to find your precious Yoshi. I pray your hard work and love for him pays off and you find him. Maybe a friend could rent a cop uniform and go to the house with you? The animal control idea was a good idea too. Maybe you could knock on the door and ask to be let in to talk about your lost dog and then call his name? does he know the command speak? you could call his name and tell him to speak. I feel so bad you have to go through this.. I hope he shows up soon |

Oh how sweet of you to offer to help!! (it is a small world) Maybe you and the op can meet up and go door to door!!) That would be fantastic. BTW....welcome to YT, I am looking forward to seeing pics of your furbaby!!! :animal-pa |
I would be stake out at that house! When I saw the parents I would go up to them and tell them what this girl has been up to. Maybe they don't know what is going on. If it is a prank, then at least you can try and concentrate our efforts on finding Yoshi or if it is that she does have him, you'll be able to get him back. I wouldn't rely on the neighbors because sometimes other people don't want to get involved. I am sending prayers that Yoshi will be home soon, safe and sound! |

Oh my, my heart just aches for you and this situation! I am praying & relighting my candle for Yoshi's safe return. I am very upset about how the police has treated this situation. Something very valuable has been taken from you and I think if it was a wallet or jewelery it would be taken very seriously. Did they even take a statement from you or a report? I have a good feeling though that you will get him back! |
Be careful if you.... Quote:
As for everyone complaining about the police, it amazes me that you don't complain to their supervisors if you feel the police are treating you incorrectly. They all answer to someone, so go to their supervisor if you have complaints. If the supervisor doesn't work, then go to the Chief / Sheriff. If that doesn't work try the Mayor / City Manager. You won't see changes if you don't complain. There is always the news media as well. Maybe they will be willing to do a story on how the police blew you off and didn't even go to the house to conduct even a particle investigation. So Sad!!!! |
Oh Mary.....I know this is driving you insane. You are on the right track.....doing everything possible!! You were treated awful by whoever was respresenting the PD that day. Try again & let them know what you've found with this person living so close to the turnpike where yorkie was spotted as updated from other caller. Don't let one rude PD representative speak for all. They caught you off guard that day......who would have 'ever' thought you'd be treated so rudely @such an emotional time. I would demand help from PD for someone to accompany you there to inquire about Yoshi. |

If your fliers are getting ruined do to the weather, I have a suggestion for big intersections. This is what I did to help find a lost yorkie of someone near me. I bought bright yellow poster board - the big stuff - I think it 2 for a $1 at Dollar Tree. I cut those in 2 - so for a $1, I got 4 big posters. Then write in a big FAT Sharpie - black; I tried Red, but it really ended up being harder to read. Once you have everything written - Lost Yorkie, Reward, phone number -- then use clear seran wrap to wrap the entire poster board. This really helps - they can be readable when people are sitting at light & they are much more likely to survive a storm. I carried a staple gun and clear packing tape. Metal poles are hard to tape to - wooden light poles are great with the staple gun |
you know i bough these 10x13 magnet sticky sheets from the dollar tree the other day thinking i would print another flyer about that size and stick these magnet to it and go post it on the big square utility box by the lights....but we are due for some rain...i have been watching the weather for a these last 2 days to see what is going on. |
Prior to getting a laminator at our school, we covered our teacher-made activities with clear contact paper so they would last longer. You can also write on them with erasable markers then clear it with windex or rubbing alcohol. Contact paper works very well with a sheet of paper and if you cut it larger than the paper, you'll have your "sticky" to place it on the surface with. The easiest way (discovered through trial and error) is to lay the contact paper sticky side up and put the paper face down onto the sticky. (Just as another helpful hint which doesn't really relate to this...you can also use clear contact paper on paperback books you want to preserve.) |
I don't post much, but I've been following along and praying for Yoshi's safe return too. I wanted to ask a couple of questions: 1) Is there a local T.V. station with a reporter who covers scams, abuse of power etc? If so it couldn't hurt to call and describe how the P.D. treated you. 2) What about contacting your local paper and let them know the same thing, have pics of Yoshi ready, the voicemail and follow-up response from the little witch & how the P.D. treated you! 3) My daughter also suggested putting up flyers at laundromats in the area, she says that she reads flyers all the time while doing her laundry... just my 2 cents...you're in our prayers:) |
Awww Mary...I was hoping you would've had yoshi back in your arms by now!!! I agree that maybe the media needs to get involved. Sweetie, I can't imagine what you are going through! Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers! I just feel helpless living so far away!!! Big hugs!!!:bighug: Please let us know if there is anything we can do... |
I hope the media will get involved and do a story on Yoshi. I think you wil get him back. |
