We went last weekend and bought Jasmine's first cloths and toys! We had so much fun and of course she went with us. It warms my heart to see so many people on here that truly cares about their babies that they give them the very best care. The furbabies that have Mommies and Daddies on this site will not find themselves abandoned in shelters or on streets. They will always be wanted because they ARE a part of our family. I will continue to fulfill the needs of Jasmine and Prissy what every they may be, cloths, medical attention, etc., just like I do for the the other members of our family. Why would we do any less?

I could set my blog to "Private" but then any person who wants to read it would have to send an application to me. I get anywhere between 1-200 readers per day. My blog helps alot of people who struggle with weight loss, and has been featured in many articles such as this Toronto Star Article (the print version had photos). I like to keep it easily accessible so that other people who struggle with weight can realize that they can do what I did. I just wish that she'd take the hint and get lost, or at least quit commenting. I don't read her blog!

In this case, it was pretty funny, and true, unfortunately.

That is great to hear about your blog! I wish I could be that inspiring.

Here is my honest comment........

I was never into indoor animals. Everyone around me was getting mini dachshunds. I used to roll my eyes whenever they would refer to their pups as their babies. I just didn't get it. I loved my pets (outdoor pets, mind you), but that is all they were. Just within the last couple of years, possibly even before the mini dachshund craze in my group of friends, I went into a pet store and absolutely fell in love with a pup. A yorkie pup. I took his picture on my phone and saved it as my wallpaper. I knew we couldn't afford a $1200 dog. Fast forward to late October. Bella, a Boston Terrier that we were keeping for dh's friend, went missing. The kids loved her. Dh didn't care for her too much. To be honest....she smelled like a dog. A dirty, wet dog, even after her bath. He never could get close to her (dh that is). The kids kept sneaking her in the living room, and would just cuddle with her on the couch. So, I was just looking at kijiji.com. And I spotted him. A beautiful teddy bear faced yorkie, and for only $400!!!! It was really love at first site. I took a picture of his picture and sent it to dh. He decided to give in. He said it could be my Christmas present. I felt so guilty though. I called the woman to see if he was still available. That was on a Thursday. We went and got him on Saturday. We were/are officially indoor dog people now. Now, I talk just like my friends. Refer to him as my baby. Dress him up when I can. He goes with me everywhere I can take him. I have this need to buy him things whenever I go to the store. lol Spoiled much?!? Love him!

So, that is my story. I don't think people can truly understand until they have one. I don't understand her maliciousness. You dressing up your dog does not affect her in anyway. And, your dog is not in danger from you dressing her up. It is none of her business. Period! Even before I got Maximus, I didn't tell them I thought it was silly. It was more of an inside joke between my bff and I. She STILL doesn't like indoor dogs, and now I'm the enemy. (just kidding) lol

Wow , I would have guessed she was only around 14 years old also ! Given her language and her attack /taunting demeanor.... I would have never guessed she was a grown woman ! Just try your best to ignore her she is not worth the effort.

I want you to tell me how you lost all your weight if you are not tired of telling people. I have been so depressed about my weight. Maybe I could do what your doing.

Honestly, I just signed up at www.weightwatchers.ca (the canadian site, there is a U.S one as well) and followed their plan EXACTLY. I never cheated once. I started exercising once I went from 281 lbs down to about 230 lbs. I did 5-6 days of high intensity cardio, doing 30-60 mins worth on those days. Sometimes my cardio would be running, other times I'd use the machines at the gym. I did 20 min weight sessions on 2-3 days of the week. This was 10 mins of abs, and 10 mins of upper body weights. I despise strength training, so I kind of keep that to a minimum. I'd occasionally substitute one of my workouts for a session of Yoga or Pilates here and there. Now that I'm on maintenace, I don't work out quite as much, but I still do 3-5 days of cardio, and 1-2 strength training sessions per week.

If you decide that weight watchers is something that you'd like to start doing, I will do what I can to help you. There are also other ways to manage your food. You can count calories at Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople and it's free. I just find weight watchers to be so much simpler. You don't need to start with the workouts right away. Just deal with the food issues first, then everything else will fall into place. Just PM me when you're ready!

I think it was rude of her to write this to me. It's my blog, and if she doesn't have anything nice to say, she shouldn't say anything at all! Especially if she has no knowledge of the breed.

So, I posted today on my blog addressing her comment, I'm inviting any of you Yorkie lovers who are bored to wander over to my blog and post a comment under todays post backing up my theory of *it's OK to dress your Yorkie*. You can do it anonymously. It's a weight loss blog, but I do discuss other things, such as my new little love Missy, and my cake decorating skills. I address her comment in the second paragraph of todays posting, right below the pics you will see a link to where you can post a comment if you'd like. Your comment won't show up immediately because I will have to approve it. I will check back in awhile.

Thanks everyone. I get so annoyed with people who judge those of us who dress up our dogs. If I didn't dress Missy, she would be hovering over the heat vent shivering all day. I couldn't imagine taking her outside without clothes ever! She still shivers even with 2 layers on and me cuddling her in my jacket. Anyways, here's the link to my blog Gettin' Shrunk again, just if you're bored...
First off, your weight loss is amazing! Looking good and bet you're feeling much better from a physical perspective. JB is overweight. I'm going to show her your blog when she gets back from Detroit Mon.
I took a quick look at your blog. I'm heading back to it shortly but will keep YT logged on. I can see a Yorkie wearing clothing to keep warm. My guys were tugging at the leash to get back inside a few early mornings ago (7am) when I got in from work and it was in the upper 30s here in Sat. Beach FL. Just out for a couple of minutes for them to relieve themselves, then a much longer walk after it warmed some around 9am.

YAY!!!! Good for you! Blogging really helped to keep me on track. It held me accountable. I'm always here if you need help getting started, or someone to be accountable too. I can't wait to hear how you do. Oh, and take progress pictures! When you are losing weight, sometimes you don't realize how well you are really doing. It's nice to be able to look back at those pics and see how far you've come. GOOD LUCK! I'm proud of ya for wanting to live a healthier life. Go for it!

I learned quite a bit on my own, and then I took all of the Wilton Cake Decorating courses. It's fun!
