| Yorkie colors are just gorgeous! Being a first time Yorkie mama, I have just noticed how beautiful their colors are. Tobie Teddington got into something sticky so I had to give him a bath and brush him. His hair looks so shiny! He has a pretty gold color around his mouth and a shiny silver on his head. I can't wait to see what his coat is going to do next! lol

| I completely agree. Duke is 16 months now and has gone through different stages with his color and right now his 4 legs and head are golden/blond the rest is shinny black. I love it after he gets a bath too. He needs a hair cut though but his long hair look great when he runs.... aww yorkies

| You know, when we first brought Chip home, he was of course mainly black with little red points around the tips of his ears, his muzzle, and a little on his paws. He started breaking into tan on his face and I thought there was something wrong with him... I was so uneducated at the time but you know, I LOVE the idea that you don't really know what the exact color is that you're going to get. Chip's back started turning silver, but just stopped after awhile and he's still black with the tan face. He has silver "highlights" as a I call them. We got Smokey at 6 months and he was dark dark dark gray and light tan faced. He had a silver "skunk" line down his back and we decided to cut all his hair off. Now he's so silver that he's almost white. It's amazing with all the color differences!

| Yet another thing to love about the breed. We have 3 and all are a different color. Boo is reddish-blonde and black. But this winter when we let his summer cut grow out he is getting the most amazingly beautiful pewter and bronze color on his body. Totally not the breed standard, but it is gorgeous and very unique. I've got to get pictures of it in case he decides he doesn't like it and goes back to his normal black. Gracie Ruth has been changing color monthly since we got her at 3 months of age. She has gone thru some stunning color combinations and hasn't finished yet. I'm so excited to see how she'll finish. Yogi has stayed black and tan. YEA! His Poppa has the most stunning black and tan color and I was really praying that Yogi would turn out like him. His face and ears are getting a bit more brown/tan but his back is still coal black. I tell him every time I brush him, "Please Yogi, please, be a good little Momma's boy and stay black." Typical Yogi fashion he'll look up at me, give my nose a little kiss and says, "Ok Momma."
