| ![]() I have read that Yorkies shouldn't leave their moms until 12 weeks. I also hear from many folks that they have gotten their puppies earlier. What are all your thoughts and experiences on this? Just looking for input! Thanks for your thoughts! |

| ![]() Maggie May was 12 weeks when we got her. IMO every situation is a little different but I wouldn't consider getting a pup that was less than 10 weeks. JMO...

| ![]() The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America's Code of Conduct requires that breeders keep puppies until they are 12 weeks old: 8) All puppies leaving the breeders possession will be a minimum of twelve (12) weeks of age to facilitate adequate socialization as well as appropriate emotional and temperament development through interaction with siblings, dam and other dogs. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America I would not purchase a puppy from a breeder who does not follow the breed club's Code of Conduct. It's a huge red flag that they may not be following other rules that responsible breeders follow. |

| ![]() My sister is a breeder and 12 weeks is standard and I would reccomend it. Mommy teaches them a lot in those few weeks and the puppies end up better adjusted, more social and yes..much healthier. |

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I got Tucker at 7 weeks, other than potty training issues, he hasnt had no problems. However I would of liked him to stay with his momma a little bit longer, but he was dropped off unexpectedly.

| ![]() I got Fiona when she was 3 months old!!!!!!! The breeder couldnt decide if she wanted to keep her or not, then when i moved in across the street and met her and saw fiona, i knew she would be mine, and after talking to her she wanted me to have her! My boyfriend and I just picked up a yorkie/chihuahua mix from a family friend, and he was only 5 weeks old, since the mother rejected him...poor thing, first vet visit is tonight!!!!!
